Just a quick one . Have any of you stayed over your 90 days . We are fed up with weather and want to go sooner . And that will take us over the 90 days. WOULD WE GET AWAY WITH IT . any one can advise us . Have you done it .

Lots do it, not yet heard of any problems. All that may change sometime in the near or distant future.
Cheers
Ed

Has anyone ever been checked for the 90 day rule ?

When all passports are the new chipped type they will probably start enforcing it.

Insurers might have a ninety day single visit clause!

I thought it had always applied but so far overlooked ?
After Brexit things may be different ?
But then again, maybe not ?

As Manxcat

The 90 day rule will only be enforced if no deal Brexit.

With a general election due at the beginning of December we will not leave before then so any 90 daywill not include the period between then and now.

Go,and enjoy!

The 90 day rule does not apply - YET. When/if we leave the EU it will apply then.

The 90 day rule currently applies for any EU Citizen staying in any single EU country, but is not and cannot be enforced, since there are no dates of entry recorded between countries.

Anyway overstaying does not mean one is kicked out, only that one has to register one's prescence there.

For non-EU Citizens, which on Brexit UK Citizens become, the 90/180 rule applies for entry and stay in the Schengen area. The penalties for any overstayers are severe, as some Australians etc know. British Citizens would suffer the same after Brexit.

Not so many now, and a few UK cars dumped at the side of the road, just gone back and left debt, ? many have moonlighted from rented villas, just left their animals and gone, that's the sort of people you have coming home.?

This one today, they want putting down, luckily someone has rehomed and the crap we get from people that moan about people like me that only do holiday rents, when you have people that run up debt and you cant get them out. ? Bob.

jumping on someone elses benidorm post here but I'd like to ask how long does it usually take you to get there from leaving UK shores?
I can see on google about 22hrs driving from my door (Gloucestershire) avoiding tolls but what's more realistic???
Second question is if you don't book anywhere to stay once arrived, how easy is it to find "aires" over winter if every man and his UK dog appears to head in that direction? and do you have to move around a lot or can you just rock up to one place and stay there (as I thought aires were limited time basis)

We have done a Benidorm for years , and a couple of months in a row
Sites are usually pretty full of overwintering travellers

Travel down from Bilbao can be done in one day if you arrive early morning 2 days is more comfortable
From Calais I'd take 6 days

BUT the up side is the longer you stay the cheaper the deals - ring the sites direct you get better deals sometimes cheaper than ACSI - if they accept it it's a good bargaining chip
