AMG I'm afraid, I would try to get your dealer to swap it for a Gel.
Even though the Elektroblocks now have an AGM setting the AGM's are still failing in a very short time.
I'm having the Gel's I fitted in my van a year ago (replacing failed AGM's) swapped over to the new Hymer don't want AGM's again.

Thanks - too late for negotiations with dealers though, they might want more for the exchange rate ;)

I'll swap them for Lithium (next time I win the lottery) :)

If it was me I would get rid of the AGM and fit a couple of Gel's fitting another AGM is like throwing money down the drain. AGM's are designed for stop start cars not leisure use.

I think they'll be fine for my occasional needs - we'll see though ;) (y)

We had a second AGM fitted as part of the deal when we bought our camper, we only have a 60w solar panel and did two 7 week holidays last year without any problems whatsoever.

If you use EHU (we don't) they may last 2 or 3 years.

It's my first MH so it's hard to predict exactly what the pattern of usage will be, probably more on than off though.

Our AGM's lasted 18 months I expect the Gel's to be good for a minimum of 6 years many have them last 9-10 years. Cheaper to buy 2 Gel's now than 1 AGM followed by a couple of replacements in a couple of years. I would have thought bending the dealers ear would get him to change the original.

This is only my personal opinion.

AGM batteries need to be charged correctly. Unfortunately they are often fitted to vans with a charger not designed got AGM. The EBL99 doesn't have a setting for AGM the EBL119 is the revised version that will charge the AGM batteries correctly.
The same goes for a lot of solar charge regulators. Most won't charge AGM batteries properly.

Been reports of AGM's failing with the updated Elektroblocks.

Thanks - always good to hear another opinion. The state of negotiations between me and the dealer is quite fixed though, and given the deal I've got I am more than happy with that. If the batteries need changed in under 2 years then I'll certainly get 2x gel ones, if not I'll just see how it goes (y) :)

Can you please let us have links to where you saw this, as I wonder if its a specific brand of battery and if the owners have selected the correct setting on the charger?

Not about batteries but just got ours out of storage and pump appears to be knackered, would you expect that on a 2014 van.

Is it making a noise? If it is check there isn't air in the system. :)
Probably better to start a new thread.

Wet lead-acid but sealed. Still a good idea to fit vent tubes if they are not already fitted.

Methinks you mistake me for someone who would understand that statement :)

I only have a hammer and a pair of pliers ... the batteries are under the drivers seat and I can't reach them with my hammer ... ;)

I only pay for them (y)

You could always crawl under the van and bash a hole through the floor with your hammer. That would provide ventilation for the batteries.
