Hi - my Roadscout didn't come with any 12v sockets as standard, so even though I'll rarely use it I was thinking of adding one (or more). There is a hole above the Diner that's probably for connecting a TV that looks a likely candidate. Thought I'd ask first what others have done and if there's a particular style/brand that would fit with the minimum of cutting? Thanks.

Even better! 3 sockets, 2 screws under cupboard at back on photo, slot already at back in bottom of cupboard to feed wire up out of sight and straight into box with 12v supply. Sockets held with 2 screws into underside of cupboard. 20 minute job! No cutting whatsoever!

This could answer all your problems ---

Thanks the 2nd one looks like it might fit the existing hole, although I am quite liking the thought of a couple of extra USB options too. It's a pity they make them quite so utilitarian looking, surely a bit of chrome and a sprung cover wouldn't hurt?

Thanks for that. Struggling a bit to come to terms with the plastic plug look, but I suppose these days you'd get sued if someone stuck their fingers in there  Quite like the idea of some extra USB sockets so I suppose might be better for me.

I've used the below in my Globecar:

A couple of these in the overbed lockers in the rear, one at either side high up in each locker face so they are out of harms way:

In the front under the locker above the sofa I've put one of these as it has all the cabling/connections housed within it so isn't going to get knocked by stuff in the cupboard:

Plus one of these in the rear of the passenger seat base:

If you don't want cigarette lighter sockets and only need USB. These are a good idea.

Have you got a link for those?

I'm sure I've seen them before, including a photo showing the light rail attachment on the rear, but I can't track them down now. I'm sure I've seen a price too - can't remember what it was, other than it wasn't cheap!

Thanks for that. Found them. That price was for two, I take it.

Not cheap, but very convenient as I already have the power rails in place. If I cost my own labour to fit extra USB sockets in the front & back of the van, they don't seem too bad.

That was my thinking. Also they are not fixed which is great for charging above the bed. They don't have any annoying light associated with them either
