this appeared on twitter last night - motorcyclists setting up camp at the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge in the West Highlands.
WTF is wrong with these people. its behaviour like this that gives wild camping a bad name and will lead to more restrictions.
we all need to be careful and respectful when wild camping...
I assume they got on the booze after pitching up - hence why the police were unable to move them on on the spot.

If you read the RM Charities website you will see the reason they're there. Making assumptions often leads us to the wrong conclusion.

I don't think booze will be the reason a copper hasn't moved on a few Royals...

Ohh the irony of twitter.

Im guessing when the commandos had marched most of the day on route to engagement they would pitch up for the night.

Just like those at the memorial.

Are those camped there ex forces 🤷‍♂️

There are some total nobs on social media especially twatter 🙄😊

Reading that Twitter link
Seems that people were upset, not because of the Wild Camping, but because their tents are possibly pitched on ground where ashes have been scattered.

Whatever the motivation, ScotGov have stated today that camping with tents is not yet allowed.

We can’t pick and choose who we criticise or we’ll end up with one rule for our cronies and one for the rest of the plebs ... 😉

What harm are they doing?

Immeasurable harm if they are ignoring rules in place for the benefit of everyone... and getting away with it.

They are causing untold hurt to loved ones, If they are sleeping, peeing, on the ground used to scatter ashes of the fallen.

If neither of the above apply and they leave the place tidier than they found it, I agree, what harm are they doing?

Only time will tell.
However, whether one believes the answer may depend on ones pre conceived opinions.
