Given the finger for not waving !

I,m usually pretty good at acknowledging other motorhomers, but last Thursday on the A31 I was distracted so neglected, this caused the oncoming gentleman(other words are available) to give me the finger. I just wonder how he felt this added anything to the comaderie of the motorhoming community.

If people want to indulge in waving that's fine but they shouldn't get annoyed if others don't. Personally, sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I don't get hung up on it, some seem to take it very seriously. When you've been driving for hours and passed 100s of other motorhomes it's not really one of my priorities.

As long as they don't appear to be Liverpool or Manure supporters, I always raise my hand to other motorhomers but really don't mind if they don't respond.

In Yorkshire a few months back it seemed every 3rd vehicle was a motorhome so it got a bit wearing after an hour

I think you are pretty safe in a big A class as nobody ever waves to us, well possibly the odd/confused coach driver

Quite agree. This 'waving' thing is totally naff. I don't even take notice of other vehicles except for having an awareness for safety reasons.

Prison vans are white, usually with G4S on them……black is good, silver (ours) is okay…..but anyone with a white van could easily be a prison van.

It is impossible to do if you are busy texting

We do tend to wave/salute but on occasion, when in a strange area and looking for road signs etc., don’t notice the oncoming wave so don’t respond. We are not being rude or dismissive and don’t get upset if we don’t get a return wave when others are distracted or simply don’t participate.

We quite like the camaraderie displayed by the wave but each to their own.
