Has anyone got Gps co-ordinates for a night stopover at Gib please? We would like longer to visit, as we had an taster, when we visited there, with other Funsters, when we stayed at the La Bella Vista in Manilva. We would like to try some other place that is within walking distance of the border or if not has a good bus service.
Tall order, I know, but I am hoping.
Thanks
Colin and Liz

La Linea Campsite

Broken Link Removed

Hi Colin & Liz, try the link above for a small campsite in La Linea, too far from the border to walk but taxi or bike ok. Other Funsters have posted on this previously.
Hope you are having a great time in Morocco,
Safe travels,
Pauline & Mike.

Hello Pauline and Mike,
Nice to hear for you again.
Thanks for the information on this site - Morocco is a fabulous and different country but sadly it is raining today:Sad: An experience not to be missed.
Safe travels - enjoy the rest of your trip.

Gib Route

No Co-ordinates but others have followed these directions successfully.

From Algeciras take the A7 and follow signs to Gibraltar. As you approach Gibraltar you will have the sea on your right. The road is a two lane dual carriageway. At the point where the road markings show 'right hand lane to Gib' get into the left lane. One of the traffic islands is now cordoned off with concrete blocks so you cannot go round it and cones are used to separate the traffic. That in the right hand lane only goes to the Frontier so avoid it. Stay in the left hand lane and drive straight past the Frontier on your right (and Burger King on your left). Drive on to the next roundabout and turn left. There is a large free car-park on the left. We were there about three weeks ago and there were about twenty vans. We have used this area several times and just walk through the Frontier then grab a bus to Morrisons or the bus station. Remember to take some £ type cash for your bus fare and your pasport.

We have overnighted here in the past without any problems. Some vans stay for weeks. There is regularly one van with a Gib registration left there.

Family on Gib tell me that any delays caused by the Spanish border staff being ''vigilant'' is normally restricted to between 1700 and 1900 on any day.

There are often large numbers of people 'hanging around' in the area around the frontier and Burger King so it pays to be on your guard.
