All part if the plan to take the island into Spanish Rule.
They seem to already be going against the agreement.
Hopefully it was just a politics lip service ploy to momentarily appease the substantial right-wing factions in the Spanish Parliament who have been quite vociferous in their condemnation of anything positive that involves Gibraltar. But then again, a leopard doesn’t change it’s spots.

They will think of another excuse to disrupt us. The fact that it affects their own locals much more is of no concern to them.
Who are "they" ?
It was Britain that chose to disrupt things. Now the UK has handed control of Gibraltar to Spain, who will have to monitor and police the extended Schengen border and all international arrivals - cutting off Gibraltar from UK.

They can't have non EU 3rd country nationals from plague island using it as a backdoor to sneak into the EU, and the UK no longer has a voice at the table, so I expect the deal will be done to formalise the return of Gibraltar to Spain in a few years.

The gift that keeps on giving ! :giggler:

Funny how it was the self-proclaimed 'patriots' who stabbed their own country in the back, surrendering territories needlessly in the name of 'democracy'.... Totally different to how a previous generation (and female PM) reacted to the potential loss of the Falklands.

The agreement has not handed control of Gibraltar to Spain.
External - the airport and seaport - borders are to be manned by Frontex officers reporting to the EU and not to Spain.
Furthermore, the Frontex area of responsibility will take over only after Gibraltar's Border and Customs authorities have granted entry status to the arrivals.
