We've only attended 3 FUN events so far, but it's become blatantly obvious that a minority of members (possibly only Two*) are not picking up their dog's SHIT.

Do you have any suggestions regarding a solution? I'm thinking that if you are caught leaving your dogs SHIT in the field you should be banned from the forum, this would include letting your dog out to roam unattended (temporary ban).

I believe that we, as dog owners should be doing everything we can to stop posts like those below...

Has any dog owner lost anthing ???
If so your pile of dog shit can be found at the back of my van...
?????:swear2::swear2:

I wonder if it's a very generous dog and it's the same one that left huge pile of s**t outside my habitation door yesterday. Good job I didn't catch the lazy sods who probably think they are good dog owners.

Thank you to @Red for kindly clearing it so my little grandaughter didn't step in it. It wasn 't his dog that did it.

I hope this post is instrumental in generating a positive reaction and solution to a serious problem.

Cheers
Bannock, Red and Chris.

*This is based on the size of the SHIT's I've picked up, one was out of a Terrier sized dog at the FFF meet, all others were out of a Greyhound or larger.

Have to say that Figaro has a valid point there. However, I certainly don't think @ Redframe is wrong at all. It's the owners that need to be identified but us that causing more shit

I presume it's one of the reasons a lot of places say dogs must be on a lead, so you know what they are doing. I'd be mortified if mine were off dumping and I didn't see, it's all part of the Fun (see what I did there) of dog ownership!

I had a pile from a medium sized dog (still warm) left near my hab door at the Malvern Show.

Dogs are supposed to be on leads on the promenades around Torbay. Yet still there’ll be piles of poo on every walk.
Local woodland site, always piles of poo within 15 yards of the gate. Field a few hundred yards from my house has become really bad over the last year, too.
If you can walk a dog you can pick up its poo.

This is not a random problem as it happens at most of the rallies we have attended. In fact we happened to observe one member sat around singing with their mates as their dog wandered loose and took a crap at the bring & buy in May. That appeared normal practice for many members with dogs, just let them loose to do as needed.

I have 3 broken vertebrae and struggle to walk, so use a scooter. I ALWAYS pick up after our 3 dogs and on most walks end up picking up after lazy owners as well

The deposit left for me was "about a handful"..
So a lot for a small dog or a large dog having a small one..

Ref knowing if it was a funster dog.. I cannot 100% say it was.
However, as we were in a field totally seperated from any other campers, no where near the show or any other facilities, then very remote chance anyone would even wander up into our area.
Several vans had dogs off leads and were allowing them to run about. All generally well behaved and I suspect the owner did not know the dog had done it's business near me.. It most probably wondered off, they called it back but to late.. Shit happens..

Still annoying and with kids around as well.. Lots of my Fun friends have dogs and i dont have an issue BUT so annoying when you wake and nearly stand in a pile..

Name and shame on here if you are witness to such behaviour. Hopefully the embarrassment and public ridicule that follows will either amend their bahaviour or never allow them to be seen in public again (that's the owners not the dogs obviously).

Emojis in reference to another recent thread (just in case it's true)

Maybe an area for no dog pitches at larger meets in future as it sounds like a recurring problem?

Every dog owner says they pick up every time 100% ..... we’ll they obviously don’t...

If I saw someone’s dog do it around me and they didn’t pick it up.. I would and smear it all over their door handles.....?

Because that’s what happens to me when my wheelchair picks it up on the wheels and then into my hands..??

How can you be sure they were funster dogs and not from other campers dogs ?

At the Three FFF's meet last year the likelihood of it not being a funster's is below 1% and closer to Zero, at Malvern the location of the FUN field presents a similar situation.

The difficulty in taking photo's is that it is easy to take a photo of a dog on a lead before the owner has picked up.

I would be concerned if people started taking video's of me whenever my dog began the process, on the off chance that I might not pick up.

Perhaps more communication on Rally threads or on signs around Rally fields.

I don't know what the answer is, hence the post.

Cheers

Inconsiderate dog owners, I don't know what the answer is but more signs may help concentrate people's minds.
You would think it wouldn't be necessary at a funster rally though.

A couple of years ago I saw a dog, which was on a lead, dump on the path at the entrance to our driveway. I went and confronted the owner and he denied that it was his dog, saying that he always clears up after his dog. He did clear it up. Up to then he was a regular walker past our house but, after this, I never saw him again.

There will always be inconsiderate people. How about at a Rally there is an area for:
1 - Dog Owners Only
2 - People that forget to shut waste taps
3 - People that talk with friends after 7pm and have a normal social camping experience
4 - People who litter despite their being bins available
5 - People with children that let them scream and throw stones at vans and stab old ladies
6 - People who BBQ in the evening and waft the smell of food over campers

There will always be a**eholes!

The last show I stayed at a dog owner with their dog off the lead stood and watched it pee up my awning leg, they didn’t even shout stop or no.

That was a funsters I’m afraid.

Dirty b',,,,,,,, not sure of their funsters name otherwise it would be on here.

have to admit to booting a dog out our van as it was cocking it's leg against our furniture. No idea whose it was and think we may have been abroad. it didn't come near all the time we were there though.

Sad world we live in when we have to discuss dog crap! How about this idea......Get a bag and just shift it? Surely it would be better to discuss the plight of the world than a dog poo or two?

Kev

Funster dogs to be fed bone meal at events so poop is white like it used to be (boy from the 70's here)..... Hence distinguished from foreign dogs invading our area....... I am joking in case you aren't used to a little sarcasm.... ??

Surprising though it may be,Funsters are human beings. In any such group, there will be people who:

Let their dogs crap anywhere and don’t clean up.
Make too much noise.
Drink too much.
Ignore their neighbours.
Shout at the kids.
Use a genny.
Leave litter.
Leave crap at the black waste point.
Leave their grey waste to run anywhere.
Act as if they are better than you are.

That’s life Im afraid.

Solution to dog poo problem is:

Better signage.
More bins with free bags.
Flyers delivered to vans on arrival.
Threatbof fines.
