Thinking about heading to Germany 🇩🇪 mid October time, probably northern area around Hamelin. Probably be for about 10 days
Don’t want to go to far south.
Any recommendations for sites places to visit etc in that area
Will have a mountain bike so a wee bit of biking would be braw as well
Thanks

I don’t know Hamelin but we visited the Mosel Valley at the end of September last year for about two weeks, staying in various Stellplatz from Saarburg to Cochem. It was beautiful but unfortunately we didn’t have much good weather. Combined with the COVID effect, it seemed the dampeners were on the vibrancy of the wine tasting season. Great cycling with paths linking the different towns along the river. We’d love to go back some time.

Suggest Willingen/Winterberg area for Mtb.

A good central stellplatz next to the river in minden. Nice town. Buckeburge is nice too with a central stellplatz.

There are two stellplatze in Hamelin, there is one on the riverside , but ther is a small one right in thee built up area and a shortwalk into town centre https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Womo+Stellplatz+Hameln,+Uferstraße+80,+31787+Hameln,+Germany/Co-operative+regional+control+center+Weserbergland,+Ruthenstraße+7,+31785+Hameln,+Germany/@52.0963125,9.3575524,128m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x47ba8f4d2d69f3a7:0x851db73bae5ca12!2m2!1d9.3478867!2d52.1093277!1m5!1m1!1s0x47ba8eefd70e8511:0xc61ed9276ed09532!2m2!1d9.3568576!2d52.0975784!3e0

A short distance away is Schloss Hamelschenburg

Best book the channel tunnel then..

Cycling is well catered for in many parts of Germany, alongside the river in Hameln we spotted a diy bike repair station with tools, tyre levers and pump. The Stellplatz however was not the prettiest and a bit industrial IIRC.
