The green sticker I fear will not much good for much longer unfortunately, the Germans are planning a blue sticker which has been suggested will effectively ban all diesel vehicles from areas it is enforced. But they are considering reducing the areas the blue sticker covers but discontinuing the green.

Mines a 2002 so yellow sticker so never bothered to buy one. We travel in Germany most years and never had any problems but to be honest we tend to stay outside cities and ride the motorbike in although have stayed on stellplatz in a few and took a chance.
