Won't be seeing you there Andy, going to to the Stelplatz at N+B factory/showroom at Polch in a couple of days and then possibly Cochem on the Mosel before heading towards the ferry.

I am reliably informed that you can get an umwelt plakette at any auto dealer
So I will pick one up on route on the 9 to Bacharach only 32 miles from here

No FON but I have the options of site wifi "hotsplots" my 3 dongle or my EE offering calls texts and 100mb data per 24 hrs £4
I have chosen the latter just now but none of them are uploading pictures unfortunately
Bacharach is the farthest we plan to go on the Rhine so may stop at boppard sankt goar loreley blick first before cross country to the mosel rather than back to koblenz

This little site is I think very much overlooked but after the Rhine it is blissfully quiet
There is no main road and no railway
The barges are quiet as there is barely any current to fight against due to the locks that also control the river level
Not sure where to go tomorrow but likely minheim

I can assure you that completion is not going to be realised in February next year
There is now a contra flow as a result of the foundations only just being started on probably the seventh column of the nine for the 11 spans
My picture was while sat at the works and the lights only allow about a dozen vehicles through per change

So much for German efficiency!
Last Sept we stayed at Cochem,on the opposite bank to the town,during the night the tourist boats moored up and in the morning they were leaping out of bed and opening the curtains not realising they had moored up alongside a row of motorhomes!

BTW FYI we've had the heating on the last three nights
Not what we expected but hey ho we are comfy
Saw gpl at 30 cents in Belgium near zeebrugge
Around Germany it has varied up to 55 but not less than 45 so far
Diesel 1.09 best

Don't bother with the Indian restaurant at Whelen that's just down the road if you turn right out of the stelplaze, it was truly awful Some nice places over the bridge, but very touristy.
