Has anyone used the Geosim which gives you free incoming calls in European Countries.

Broken Link Removed

Does not look too bad on the data front. Just wondering if anyone had one or had anything to say about it.

Data looks very very expensive.......:Eeek:

France, Germany, Spain Portugal, Holland varies from £0.38 to £1.23 per MB depending which network you are on..... ouch..

So for 25mb that would be from £9.50 to £30.75.

On Vodafone PAYG 25 mb costs £2.00......! and local sims are even cheaper in most countries.

A Woosh bang
Used it when we were full time abroad.. only comment is the odd calling procedure .. but you get used to it, other than that it worked fine..

Making A Call

GeoSIM works slightly differently from your "normal" SIM. When making a call, GeoSIM routes your dialing instruction away from the local operator and sends your call to the GeoSIM "Hub". A few seconds after you dial the number you want to call, your mobile phone will ring. You answer the "callback" and you will be connected to the person you wish to talk to.

In summary:

Dial the number you want to call.
A few seconds after you dial, your handset will ring. Answer the "callback" from the GeoSIM Hub.
You will then get connected to the number you are calling.

I should add we never used it for data ..

If you want to receive calls for free, get an eKit SIM.

Costs £20 with £5 credit. Costs people back home in the UK the same as calling a UK mobile (so if they have a moble, they can use their inclusive minutes) and is free to recieve calls anywhere in Europe.

Vodafone PAYG @ £2 for 25MB does seem the cheapest data option at the moment.
