As I like to pee off people I was thinking of getting one.

A few questions:

1.do they run off petrol or diesel?

2. Do they have a fuel tank or is it external?

3. If it's an integral tank how long does it run for on a tank?

4. Does it have the same effect as having EHU?

Genuine questions because I don't understand this sort of stuff.

1 petrol
2 internal fuel tank
3 Honda runs a good few hours - maybe 4-5
4 1 or 2 kw- otherwise same as ehu

Most people use them for a couple of hours early evening to boost batteries.

1. Normally petrol or LPG
2. Integral
3. Depends on size of tank. Certainly a number of hours
4. Depends on the output of the generator. A small one way be suitable for charging your leisure batteries.
We've got a 2kw one with a pure sine wave output which would be like plugging into EHU

It may be for sale if your interested - never used in anger

I got ours when we had our Bessie
Sadly I forgot to read the dimensions and it wouldn't fit in the rear locker.

Last generator I played with. Had a coal fired boiler and steam turbine driving a 500MW hydrogen cooled alternator.

Can advise it wasn’t very quite or cheap to run

answer is both fuels PLUS like mine gas from the barbeque point, only mine is quiet unless you want to use my 3KVA diesel which will awaken the dead with the knocking.

If you want to really pee off people then you should invest in a large diesel generator. You can get them with large integral tanks that allow them to run for days. This will then give you the affect of having you own personal power station rather than just an ordinary EHU.

Go for it Chris.

By all means get one. Use it too.
But at least 500 metres away from your nearest neighbour.

What sort of person honestly thinks it is socially OK to inflict the infernal noise on near neighbouring motorhomes?

It doesn't take long to for this subject to bring them out of the woodwork!

A little tolerance goes a long way.

If all you are intending to do is pee people off then you either put it inside your MH / Garage or you will be sitting up guarding it. Not from theft but probably being inserted through your front windscreen. We had a guy running one on an Aire in Spain. Internal one and just a small exhaust pipe. Air con on the roof. All windows shut and curtains closed during the day. Everyone was parked well away from it.

Generator threads remind me of a number of blow in's we get down here then complain about the farmers driving tractors around the roads, one between Pyworthy/Bridgerule actually rang the police because they were silaging & driving past their cottage, they don't seem to understand the farming countryside is a very noisy place & smelly at times:rofl:

I wouldn't need to guard it as I would tie it to my A frame. Well I would when I was in Spain anyway.

generators are rarely usable , even the built in quiet ones as others without them seem to take exception to them , same as when you run your aircon similar reactions , even the ones which seem to be hearing impaired judging by the loudness of their TV or music :)
