Hi
Off to oulton park for gt racing this weekend no hook ups so have genny as back up do you just plug it in as you would do at a hook up point never used before and before the anti genny tirade most people use them at motorsport events even tenters

Just plug in as you would EHU----- this will get onboard battery charger working----- whether you can use your 240 sockets depends on the size of the genny---- same with the fridge, if Genny is running all day you might as well switch the fridge on 240v ( if it is an auto switch over one it will do this on its own----- if it works properly!!)
If you use 240 v sockets don't forget the draw from charger and fridge when working out what you can run!!
Have a great time------- gennys have their place!!!!!!!

BTW----- keep it very secure a lot of people do want a genny---- especially yours!!!!!!

I've never had to use my lpg Honda EU generator but, I take great comfort in knowing that its there, especially in the depths of winter whilst wild camping & stargazing.

Hope you have a great time. Honda EU 20i is a great choice of generator . Always let the Genny cool down before refuelling.

Probably too late now but just in case.

Start genny and allow to warm up and stabilise BEFORE plugging in.
If its a modern inverter genny just let it run a few seconds to stabilise off choke.

Took a drive up to fat cats motocross park today just about every camper had a genny running it's the norm at motorsport events

Just when will these people realise that that sort of behaviour is socially unacceptable?

Perhaps we could infiltrate their ranks?

Thanks
Genny working great just like all the others
Why is it that people need generators at motorsports events but not elsewhere?

Here at Chester there are dozens of motorhomes off grid for four or five days without EHU or a generator.

Because their m/h is just for accommodation away from home, not a lifestyle. Many have high amperage partners with them. It's the same at m/biking events.

Cause if you're In to motorsport you like making excessive usually pointless noise lol so why not add a genny

Socially unacceptable to who.

Motorhomes.... Perhaps, but not to the people at these events otherwise they too would be on their high horse about it and attempt to get it stopped
If its an accepted part of the event what does it have to do with anyone else.

I guess the single :giggler: was too subtle!!

 :whistle2: :reel: :giggler:

As said earlier most tent and caravan users at the Oulton park Gold Cup event use generators, however, most are sensible and only use them for a short duration. To be honest they never bother me when I'm there.

You do not necessarily need to use a generator 24/7. Even when I had the R-V`s, with access to 4.5kw, the only real time we put it to use was when needing the Microwave. OR if the grand-kids had been Binging on the Sat -T-V and the batteries where a bit low. In wet weather is was a boon in helping keep the "children" from exhibiting to much "stir craziness". Hardly ever got used when it was just me and SWMBO!. But still nice to have when needed. Now we DO need one, and have just upgraded to 2.2kw Full Sine wave device, as we have need to run medical equipment, from time to time:(.

Generators are banned at Silverstone Woodlands site.

We use ours on event, the race car has a small lightweight battery and it will only start the car once or twice. So between scruitineering quallifying and race we need to charge the race car batteries, genny is the only practical method.

Not everyone is so anti Genny!!!!!!! You don't have to justify your needs to use one!!!!!!!!!:D:D(y)(y)
