General comment on motor homing (1 Viewer)

We are having some difficulty in getting used to motor homing after years of tugging. For example, last year we went to several MH rallies. Drive there, stay a few days, and then drive home.

This time we are going to the Chester Camperfest, possibly stopping at a Britstop at Oakham on the Wednesday night to get to Chester on Thursday.
Right - the issue comes when we find somewhere to stay before Peterborough. Should we be booking somewhere to stay or is it reasonable to take a chance, bearing in mind all the other motorhomers going to the Motorhome show.

My inclination is to book but am I losing the spirit of adventure

Your choice of course but in the particular circumstances I would book.

I treat my motorhome just the same as my car. If I go out in the car I never book a parking space before leaving home. Have never failed to find one yet . Thats one of the advantages of owning a motorhome :thumb:.

Not really, we have too many MHs and too few sites during holiday periods.

Real adventure is Italy

....though it best to book in advance for the very reasons you state!

Its a decent location roughly half way between Chester and Peterborough - if you fancy it!
