2021 Burstner Lyseo. Fiat Ducato.

My Fiat remote control locks the cab doors and the habitation door and arms the alarm.

If I want the alarm armed but without the internal sensor on I need to use the Gemini fob.

However, the Gemini fob locks the Hab and cab doors but when I go to unlock it leaves the hab door locked. Hab door is fine to unlock with the Fiat fob.

Seems an odd problem, particularly as the Gemini locks the Hab but doesn't unlock. The fact that the Fiat one does suggests no issue with the lock itself, but I cannot see why the Gemini would lock but not unlock, just on that one door.

Any ideas?

We had a similar issue with the Gemini on our 2012 Bailey. Found that resetting the Gemini using the little pronged gadget on the dash point sorted that issue.

However we have a separate issue that we’ve never resolved. If you set the van alarm, with our without the internal sensor activated, after disabling the alarm, you have to open either of the driver’s or passenger’s door or the alarm resets and goes off. We’ve learned to live with it. Trying to fathom the Gemini instruction book, translated from Vulcan to Italian and then ’English’ defeats us.🙂

I would suspect that the alarm is plugged into the OBDP which should be avoided, it also means that if the drivers door lock is compromised so would the alarm!

That is because the central locking command is simply turning the alarm on and off. The Gemini remote can cancel the interior ultrasonic sensors

It was designed as a car alarm and the Gemini fob would unlock the drivers door, you may find that a "double" tap of the button will send a signal to unlock all the doors

Tried that...no joy.

Have you tried the reset using the little pronged tool?

My new (to me) van has this alarm fitted and I hate it with a passion.
It has a mind of its own and looks like it will have to go and be replaced with something that is far more user friendly.
I set it off after forgetting to disarm it and it carries on wailing until it times out and cannot be stopped with either the fob or the 2 pin plug.

Speak to your installers and get it programmed out would be the best bet

After 18 months of hassling my dealer (alarm installer) for a dozen other issues on my brand new van, which are now (touch wood) all sorted I really don't want to ever visit him again. Added to that he is a 200 mile trip away. I'd rather put up with the (in comparison) very minor issue with this alarm.
