My Seagate Plus, one terrabyte, wireless external hard drive has broken!

Will take it back to Worton on Thursday.

Don't know if I want it...

A) Fixed and possibly saving the contents which I had moved over to it...

B) Replaced there and then losing content...

C) Money back allowing me to buy a less sophisticated hard drive and maybe get content recovered in due course.


An interesting experience for me, Geek Boy, as practically all my tech toys have had no trouble at all.

Doesn't fill me with confidence, I have just purchased a 2tb similar wireless unit. What is it that has broken on yours.

the control board is the weak link usually and the hard drive itself will still be fine if installed in another housing. it all depends how valuable or sensitive the content of the drive is

mind you seagate did have a problem with the reliability of their 1tb drives a while back, so it could be a disk failure

Yes, I had a drive failure in the iMac - seagate 1tb drive. 2 yrs out of warranty and replaced FOC by Apple. Best of luck in getting the problem resolved

Half way through 'Carlito's Way' it just stopped.

Wouldn't switch off when on/off button was pressed.

Connected it to laptop and it spotted the drive and I was able to rescue some data (slowly) but then gave up the ghost all together.

(DON'T tell me the ending please...)
