Gearbox oil? (1 Viewer)

I would like to change the gearbox oil in my 96 ducato 2.5td Swift royale any advice Please.

I know nothing about this specific transmission but does the oil need changing? Most transmissions these days require no oil change and by trying to change it you just risk introducing dirt. I doubt there is even a drain hole.

devonbeekeeper the is m/h is a 1996 and there is a drain-plug, I was hoping that some one could have helped which oil it takes

I changed mine in the winter.

I read that maybe early Ducatos might have had water ingress into the box through a incorrectly directed drain pipe from the air intake under the windscreen.

Drained it out easy enough and was not discoloured , so ok.

The only way to refill is through a vent hole on top of the box which under a whole lot of bits and pieces.

I had to measure out 2.8l into a pump dispenser with a tube and fitting.

It may not have done many miles 40k but it`s been in there for 17years and oils back then are not as good as they are now :thumb:
