Gather round - New toilet thread.

We have just done a tour of SE Poland.

In anticipation of few cassette emptying opportunities we adopted a 'bucket and chuck-it' policy for No. 1s. Being careful to empty onto wasteland and away from water sources.

The result was that the cassette lasted for 12 days and still only 3/4 full. Spare cassette was not needed.

Pass it on.

Hubby has been using a piddle bottle for this trip and it can extend the 'life' of the cassette by a couple of days ... I 'can' use the bottle but it's not exactly lady-like so I use the loo as normal as we've not had issues emptying his bottle.

Minxy have you tried a shewee I also have a pee bottle with a "lady" adaptor and once had to use it in the back of the car in fits of giggles after drinking two pints in the pub then walking back two miles to the car in fact the last mile I ran oops, edited to say I wasn't driving that day in case anyone is worried

Can I just check do you use laundry capsules or dishwasher tablets as an alternative to usual loo chemical ( I had in mind it was dishwasher but with you saying bio that sounds more like laundry) ? - we are running low and haven’t come across any on our travels so thought I’d get the alternative whilst in supermarket tomorrow.

The Bio capsules are for the washing machine.

The word 'Bio' is only prominent in the UK. On the Continent one has to look at the ingredients for the word 'Enzyme', or close.

Better off using liquid as that way you can add as much/little as necessary rather than a full capsule which is way too much IMV for a cassette.

Here is the label from a popular brand of Spanish detergent for normal washing use - the final thing they note is 'enzimas' and this means its bio - most are but the labelling is different. It perplexed me for a while!

Do they come in different sizes?, Does "one" have to be measured to get a non leak fit?

We carry a spare cassette most of the time and it does come in handy when one is full Just as we decide to got to bed, can be emptied in the morning.
We use the cheapest liquid Laundry Bio as it’s cheaper than the capsules and doesn’t have the conditioner in it!

Possible problems with only using the toilet for no2s is that it must be nearly solid for emptying especially if you're economical with the flush water.

Bloody toilet talk.

We were on a campsite when we got chatting to another couple.

They decided to tell us in great detail about their ablutions and toilet requirements. How and when they go.

Including how they frequent the local coffe shop for coffe and cake. The morning coffe starts the motion, how they use the coffee shops facilities for their regular morning crap. Saves them having to empty shit from the cassette.

We made a sharp exit before other nocturnal or daily events were brought into the conversation.

Ditto, best thing I ever did was buy a second cassette. That and the use of public loos, cafe loos and pub loos when visiting, 6 days easy, sometimes 7. So that and a bit of common sense on finding services to empty is easy
