I am about to buy a 11KG Gaslow bottle. What do I need to enable connections. At the moment I have a 6KG Calor and a 10GG Gaslight with appropiate pigtails to my regulator.

I see there is a remote fitting kit but I assume this is for mounting externally? Not sure have time to get this done.

What I need to know it what hose to connect to my regulator?

What Hose/connector to have to enable filling up at LPG garages?

Appreciate advice and pointers in the right direction. Thanks?

It’s a good move to opt for refillable. We fitted the Gasit system which fulfils the same function but is a lot cheaper. If you go to the Gasit site, you’ll find all the info you need, including links to kits which come with all the required parts included.

Your refill point can be inside the gas bottle compartment, or outside. We opted for the external fill point which took no more than 20mins to fit.

I’m sure others will be along soon with ideas too. Good luck.

You'll need to install the filler point firmly somewhere, e.g. on a bracket because you won't be able to hand hold it whilst connecting the pump gun. I doubt that it's quicker to fit a bracket than to install the filler point externally.
I found the Gaslow tech dep't first class giving help so I suggest you call them.
I fitted a 6kg Calor exchangeable and a 6kg Gaslow refillable (belt 'n braces), both connected to the regulator. It took me less than 45 mins to do the complete installation, including cutting the hole in the locker door for the external filler point. The only 'special' tool you might need is the hole cutter. My builder neighbour lent me his for 15 mins. I did spend some time pre-planning how the hoses would run and the space/clearance required behind the door for the filler point etc. so no surprises (aka cock-ups) when I came to do the work.
If I ever remove the system I'll just put a plastic vent over the hole and it will look like a perfectly standard fitting.

Ah yes. Hadn't thought about the connector being in the door. I was thinking the wall of the van would need drilling. That still feels scary but less so. Could always buy a new door if it goes wrong!

Looks like a good idea.

1. Seems availability is not good at the moment.
2. Like the idea of an external fill point. Cannot see kits for these with safefill?

Seems [Safefill] availability is not good at the moment.
Along with lots of other good things. The world is grinding to a halt. :)

I think you are missing the point. These bottles are so light to handle. You do not need the expense and hassle of fitting an external fill point.

I had two Safefill 10kg in our Carthago but they were very tight to get at to fill and even tighter to get out of the locker, so I bought a kit Gaslow 2x11kgs from Autogas 2000 with all pipes fitted it all in about an hour including skirt filler point.

Measure twice drill once 🙂

They have some deals on complete kits

The whole concept of refillable gas containers is not to go through the agravation of messing aBout with the contents of the cupboard. (Which can be an absolute pain) cost implications is secondary. Options have multiplied and possible problems.
1 or 2 refillables
Door fitted filler (not advised by many, used by others)
Internal filler ( not universally accepted)
Aluminium bottles if payload issues

My choices 1calor (propane, butane adaptors) 1 Gaslow inside filler , bbq point to add " foreign" bottle (regulated)

Can you post a pic of the setup, please. I would have thought you needed a ball valve close to the POL connection because of residual liquid in the filler hose. Any issues with the 80% cutoff as I've heard it's a no no with Safefills.

You cannot get an official remote filler for SafeFill because the very action of screwing in the pigtail closes access to the 80% fill valve (or something like that). They are not designed for remote filling.
If you want to fit a GasLow (or Gas-It) cylinder, you'll need two new connection pipes: one to the regulator and the other to a (fixed) fill-point, which will also be required.
SafeFill would be cheaper, lighter, and easier. But, if you already have a GasLow cylinder, just get the hoses and filler point. If frightened about drilling through your van, get a bracket for the filler and fit it inside the locker. I had no issues that way but, if you do, you could always transfer it to the outside later, discarding the bracket.

Don't bodge around and just fit a proper filler. It's not as though there aren't several holes in the sides already. Anyway it wouldn't be a hole but a properly designed fitting. As I've already mentioned, if you remove the system put a vent grille over where it was.

A further factor, and in my view the most important, is that an external filling point means you will not be stopped from refilling at a garage. I have been refused a couple of times when using my old Safefill bottle, and never since with the external fill point.

As of yet i have not been refused a fill on my internal fill point in the UK or even Britain. But its a professional looking setup not an ebay cobble up with illegal calor cylinders
