enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
not for sale by me, but it might be of interest to someone??

sounds like a good bargaining stance to me then for getting them at a reduced price - at least they are 15 year inspection bottles and not 10 year ones

Is 15 years when need to be changed or a guide?

the date is on there to show when they require testing, refurbishing and re-certifying

New bottles are only warranted for 10 years but the older ones are 15.
The legislation came in a couple of years ago with the new R67 standard.
Another EU directive we are stitched upto but in this case i think it is ok.
This is well documented on other threads.
I suppose that someone will enlighten this thread with loads of correct information but mine is sort of right.

Makes more sense to get 15 year bottles if you can ...

If only to reduce test period but in reality who would keep their same system.or motorhome for that long ... and i'm ready to duck for when the responses come flying in lol

I suspect the new testing regime is every 10 years even for the original 15 year bottles. People seem to move them with them as they upgrade vans - part of their popularity and quite a sensible idea.

I can't imagine many fail the tests, butane/propane pressure is hardly in the same league as diving tanks so it sounds more like a check for rust and the connectors than the tanks themselves.

When i contacted gaslow last year they hadnt worked out how the scheme would work but they were pretty sure 15 year test intervals will still be relevant for the older cylinders. I suspect the test will be a pressure test as well as a visual. They also said its likely to be an exchange cylinder test process and if you hand over a 15 year cylinder you will get a 15 year cylinder in exchange. Quite how they would do that they werent sure ..
