I've been offered a second hand gaslow kit: 2 x 11kg bottles ates 2024 & 2026 for £350.

Not having any knowledge about thses kits I was wondering if it sounds OK or whether it would be worth spending a little more on a new Gas it kit of the equivalentime spec?

Any advice welcomed.

Thanks, Paul

I cant comment on other systems. But we've had gaslow (6 kg & 11 kg) since 14 & no problems at all apart from filling at our local BP first thing one morning, couldn't get any lpg in the bottles,
they came out & explained it was very cold & no one had had LPG yet that day & the tank was a long way off so had to hold the button in for a long time for it to get through, so no fault of the gaslow system.

If it’s a full kit buy it.

If you can get it cheaper even better ?

Fantastic system, easy and I mean easy to install. Fit it and forget it.

Gaslow, Gasit Alugas all the same really, I have the Gasit simply because it was cheaper

Wouldn't be without our Gaslow system. Much cheaper than buying Calor bottles and can fill up in Europe, with the correct fittings. Also no more lugging bottles in and out of the van.

Thanks for the replies and aplogies for the spelling. Mr Samsung predicts quite inaccurately

Just need to check the age of the bottles, the newer R67 bottles need testing after 10years.
Previously the older bottles were 15 years. So 2024 & 2026 might be either.

Those dates are what the vendor has quoted so I'm not sure? They look like this though

Hi, I have a TWIN 15KG set up and the kit for extra bottle and plumbing was £300. So you have a bargain there! I had to move the Filler Socket as then new Filler Nozzles in the garages have the huge cowel protector which meant I could not get the nozzle in!

That was my thought. Too short a test life for me....

They aren’t R67 so quite old bottles
Does that mean those dates are when I would need to change the bottles? Are they not as safe as R67 bottles? May not be such a bargain then ey?

Just a retest if you wanted to.

Not being funny but that’s a good price I’d grab it before someone else does ?

This is what the seller states:
2 Gaslow 11kg refillable cylinders
First Cylinder and second cylinder
with hoses, filling point and Auto changeover valve
Cylinders are nearly full

I'm just a bit sceptical about spending money on stuff I'm not sure about but I wouldn't want to miss out on a good deal either.

Thanks for bearing with me.

Paul

Strictly speaking they need retesting on those dates. Personally I would spend a little more for something with a better “sell by” date but of course the choice is yours.

If you decide for whatever reason you don't want them, can you please let me know as I'm also looking for some (y)
