Not that I've had any issues, so far, with using my internally located fill up point, but I would like to relocate it onto the more than adequately sturdy valance.

I can use all existing hose and fittings and relocate the fill up point just to the left of the label weight thingy. My only concern is the slightly curved profile of the valance.

It must be quite a common fit. Has anyone any tips, thoughts etc before I make any big holes when we're home again?

Many thanks, Dave.

My filler is located in the gas cupboard, like yours. I've not had any issues when filling up. I have also considered relocating the filling point to the valance but decided not to as the valances are not particularly sturdy and the filling guns at LPG points are quite heavy and you tend not to be able to support them while pressing the 'fill' button at the same time!

Thanks for the speedy replies (y). Yes I think the same as you @Bill_OR, but sound like good advice from @scotjimland to brace it, looks an easy fix :).

I may need to swap the position of the cylinders to get enough length from the current hose, but that looks a simple enought fix .

@scotjimland has taken a very sensible "belt and braces" approach - if fitting to a valance, even a sturdy one, a bit of extra support is a really good thing, if only for peace of mind

Absolutely...and also pleased to see @scotjimland back again, always reliable and helpful advice (y).

Mine is fitted in the plastic skirt. No bracing required or used. It's completely solid. Fitted professionally, not by me.

Maybe I should have said "more appropriate in my case" rather than easier, indeed, "a hole is hole" though when it's going in 200mm skirt I feel a 28 mm hole is better than a 70mm one to maintain rigidity. In my skirt the small filler fits between the ribs at the rear rather than having to cut through them. This type of filler does require an adapter, but they all do unless you only fill in the UK and it's no big deal to use.

If you already have it fitted in the locker you'll have a mounting bracket so you may be able to use this to give the skirt some rigidity.

Thanks for all the tips and especially the photos that help greatly!

Did it yesterday and was all straightforward just needed to relocate the Gaslow cylinder to the left of the locker to get some extra length on the hose to the newly located refill point. Now I can get a 15kg standard Butane Calor Gas cylinder in for our forthcoming month or so in Scotland where you struggle to find any LPG filling stations or stocks of Calor lite!

I think I'll just use a regulator on the 15kg Calor and backed via the BBQ point. This method seemed to work fine in Spain with a Spanish bottle over Winter. The alternative would seem to be replacing the feed with the screw in connection for the Calor Lite.

There you go! Don't laugh at the extra long hose from the Butane via the BBQ point. The reason is that I found the tinniest of leaks at the connection, but only when connected...so it's to remind me of a job to do!
