Had the house gas tank filled up on Friday and noticed that he has filled it to 90 %, the boiler and hob are both working okay so the 80 % rule has a bit of slack in it.

I can get a little more than the 80% cutoff in my gasit bottle by holding the pump handle down when it cuts off but given how cheep and available it is I don’t really Try to put more in that the 80%

No cut off on the tank, they just look at the gauge and stop filling it,, the previous fill was 85% and I thought that that was stretching it but apparently not.

What would it be like if it was much colder?

Is the 80% thing built in to the reckoning though? Have you in reality got 90% of 80%.

The gauge is calibrated to 100% with the last 20 % highlighted in red so the tank is 90% full.

The gauge may not be very accurate, they fill the tank until liquid comes out of the indicator, if the driver is a bit slow you may get a bit more than you should but if the tank is overfilled and then gets hot when the sun comes out the pressure may go too high and the your paid for gas will vent off

They have probably filled it to 80% and charged you the 90%

Seriously though, when my tank is filled its 100% capacity, but is only 80% of the real capacity. If you see. Just as an aside how much is domestic lpg these days.?
