Our last Motorhome had the filler inside the locker some people mention being refused a fill of the locker was open but in 6 years we never had a problem.

Not sure legality would have anything to do with it though.

Long enough
Mine is fitted in the locker - never had a problem in six years and the last time we filled up in France the E'Leclerc attendant kindly filled the bottles for me.

As mentioned by orridge and seconded by me.
I think it was Morrisons that refused to sell LPG Gas to a few Funsters because they did not have the filler connection on the outside of the locker. This was nothing to do with LPG law/rules as I understand it, but more of a directive for some obscure reason from Morrisons head offices interpretation of the rules.
It should be fairly simple to drill an appropriate sized hole in the skirt of a motorhome, some have fitted them in the rear bumper of their PVC's.

Last Motorhome we drilled a hole through the gas locker door which was dead simple. You might find it easier if it was located outside the locker itself in some countries

We’ve an external filler and we’re prevented from filling in Morrisons, even though we’ve filled up there for last 5 years TinaL now fill up else where.

I suspect it after "the fire" when it was found to be difficult / impossible to train staff to know the difference between refillable and non-refillable bpttles.
