Gas hob igniting time (1 Viewer)

Our new van has a Thetford 3 ring hob fitted 1xinduction 2xgas how long would you think the knob needs holding down before the flame will stay alight unaided this one takes at least 10 seconds our last hob took only 2or3 and ready to go.

I would say 2 or 3 seconds is about right. Sounds like the thermocouple thingy is not in the right place?

Try removing & cleaning the burner tops. If you look at the flame once the ring is alight one of the flamelets (made that up) should be aimed at and heating the thermocouple.

Try removing & cleaning the burner tops. If you look at the flame once the ring is alight one of the flamelets (made that up) should be aimed at and heating the thermocouple.

Its new but I did have a look to see if one of the (flamelets) was on the tip.

I will have another look at that when we get the van back as it is in for two weeks to get the sat nav repaired which has not worked from new 6 months ago.
