Hi, I am currently using the 6k red propane bottles.
I See that the flow gas bottles seem to be much cheaper, so, my question is:-
Is it ok to use these bottles, and are the connectors the same?

I have a 16 plate Burstner and if anyone else has a Burstner, do you know if a 11k bottle will fit in the Gas compartment? I tried a 13k blue bottle and it wouldn't go in.
Any advice much appreciated.

The blue 13 kgs butane calor bottle is the same size as the orange propane one so if you have tried the blu it won't fit - sorry!

Flo Gas is quite a large company now. Most, I assume use Calor but they all contain the same stuff. Gas companies fill for other gas companies. For example, Calor fills cylinders for a very large industrial gas supplier under the Gas suppliers name not Calor.
All British propane cylinders will cylinders will have the same fittings. Once you leave the UK, there are different fittings for each country's different propane cylinders.

I always thought flogas was cheaper, but last time I went for a bottle from a guy who sells both , he wanted the same for either, so stuck with calor as there are far more outlets when you want to change it.

Getting better month by month.
The Blue 15Kg is only 3 mm larger in diameter than the Red 13 Kg, but the height is the same. Calor do not do an 11Kg according to their website. To this end if a different supplier does the 11KG, it may fit in.
Height for both is 580mm dia for the red is 318mm and blue is 315mm

Yes, they're all making a profit but I believe Calor may be flexing their muscles and either Flo Gas and other companies are price agreeing (cartel) or the fillers (Calor) are telling these minor companies a retail price so that at a variety of sires where various different cylinders of propane are for sale, Calor isn't undercut

The 11kg propane bottle that is available from Flogas fits into the same space as continental (Spanish) 11kg bottles in our Globecar. I would assume that your Burstner has space for 11kg continental bottles.

The UK Flogas fitting is exactly the same as for Calor propane bottles.

I can measure the diameter and height if it helps but they should be available on the Flogas website.

Keep a watch on "GAS DEAL"... I just had a 13kg Flo gas butane delivered for £19.99 no exchange bottle. (y)
There is a flogas thread on here somewhere..

Cheers, but for what I need it isn't a big deal, I have a gasit single bottle setup, and only carry a 6 kg calor bottle for if it runs out , but in actual fact I have never run out, always find ing somewhere to fill up and had abandoned the calor bottle until we last went to France and decided to get another.
And we still havnt had to use it , so lugged a full bottle around for 2500 miles for fun.:(

My gas locker is designed for 2 11kg bottles but currently holds 1 13kg and 1 6kg from Calor (just). I've ordered 2 11kg from Flogas using the deal where no exchange was required. That offer is finished now.
Should have said, my motorhome is a Carthago c-tourer I 149

Done there, done that but if it gives you peace of mind, the few kilos it weighs is nothing in comparison

Hi Nigel
I used to have a 2014 Burstner Ixeo 726g and carried two 13 kg Calor gas cylinders
in the gas locker. The dealer Embee assured me they would fit and he was correct.

I have a year old Burstner T660 and have had two 13kg Calor bottles in the locker with no problems. Now fitted with 11kg Alugas refillable and a 6kg Calorlite.

I was surprised, I thought all Burstner's take 2 x 13Kg. My 2012 T660 does.
Maybe the new models are all different

Thanks for all the replies.
I will try a 13Kg one again, as it does seem that you pay way over the odds when buying the smaller ones.
