Hi all
New to motorhoming , have just bought and am trying to fit a gas level indicator, screws onto bottle fine but does not want to accect the thread from the hose from the motorhome even though this thread goes onto gas bottle no problem ? What am i doing wrong ??

Sorry to be so basic, but are you turning it anti-clockwise if propane?

Could be a faulty thread on the gauge?

Pics might help

Is it a left handed thread,? Ie screws on the other way ,anticlockwise?

Hi yep got the left hand thread bit as said scews onto bottle fine

I would take the hose end off and clean the threads of the Male and female connections and try again, just rub a clean cloth around the threads.

Thought that on the first one i bought this is the second one lol. Seen two types of hoses one with a brass end and one with rubber Screenshot_20220630-122336_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20220630-122351_eBay.jpg

Hose of our motorhome has the rubber

They are both the same connections so it should not make any difference, the threads are the same ,just the sealing end connections are different materials.the rubber ended one has a handwheel for tightening up whereas the brass one is designed to be tightened up with a spanner.

When screwing hose onto the gas bottle thread goes all the way til tight so assume it should or is supposed to do the same on the indicator ?

That may not necessarily be the case. Tighten the wheel to hand tight and then see if any gas escapes when you open the valve. If no obvious signs of gas escaping then check the connection with a leak detection spray, or worst case soapy water ,but bear in mind that soapy water may just blow away with a big leak and not show bubbles

Do those gauges even work ?
I didn’t think so.
