On my Garmin, but a different model, to change the coords format I choose Where to, then Categories and then Coordinates.

On the first screen which appears there is a spanner in the top left. This takes you to a page where Co-ordinate Format is an option.

This will take you to a list of formats and for decimal degrees you want "h ddd.ddddd". On mine this is immediately below the format Gauss-Boaga West, which is fairly noticeable. :)

If you go to enter Coordinates there is a ‘spanner’ symbol in the top left.
Go to ‘coordinate format’.
Choose format depending on the layout of the coords you have.
The usual ones are digital ie N43.10273° E003.09843°, which is where we are now
Or, N43°06.256 E003°05.983 which is the same place using, I think, degrees, minutes, seconds.

There is some complicated mathematical system of converting them but don’t ask me how, it’s well above my pay grade. :)

No, that's degrees and decimal minutes

(ddd° mm.mmm' in Garmin speak)

N43 16 43 E 03 28 43

That looks a lot like a degrees, minutes & seconds format: N43° 16' 43'' E 3° 28' 43"

Campling La mer near Agde?

The Garmin format you want for that is ddd° mm' ss.s'' and you should be able to enter it straight in.

Those coordinates in dd° mm' ss.s'' format are equivalent to N43.278611° E3.478611° in ddd.dddd° format or N43° 16.717' E 3° 28.717' in ddd°mm.mmm' format.

60 seconds ('') in a minute (')
60 minutes (') in a degree (°)

Cheers will try that when back at van. Still a bit confusing though compared to aguri just put the same digits in and done. Were do you’re extra digits come from

Sorry, what doesn't work? According to this page (link below) the menu is the same as mine so this should take you to the page where you can select the format you want - assuming that is what you want to do. :)

Actually tried all the co ordinate variants and none come up with the digit format as printed in the acsi book. Used to just put them in on my aguri. Will get there in the end

It’s the same sort of thing as measuring distance: 3 foot 6 3/8 inches (feet, inches, fractions of an inch) is the same as 3 foot 6.375 inches (feet & decimal inches) which is the same as 3.531 feet (decimal feet)

Edit: or did you mean the zeroes? You will need to add zeroes in front of the numbers you have to make up the right number of digits: '43' degrees might need to be entered as '043'; '2' minutes as '02', etc.

I'm with you now. :) The ACSI books give the coords in degrees, minutes and seconds. The Garmin format you need to select is shown as h ddd° mm' ss.s"

Around this part of the World you won't need all three digits for the degrees so just add zeros at the beginning where needed. For example, the ACSI site #1746 is shown as N 44° 26' 29" W 01° 14' 44" so you would enter this place in your Garmin as N 044° 26' 29.0" W 001° 14' 44.0"

Right think you’ve cracked it. I actually understand what you’ve just said. Will try it when back at van just finishing my beer and watching sunset. Somewhere in Spain lol

If you have the camper version of the 770, hasn’t it got ACSI already loaded, search for the site you want, job done.

Yes it does have ACSI and Campercontact loaded but sometimes finding an aire isn’t easy. Mind you, even those that are loaded don’t take you to the right place. Near but not exact.
