Has anyone else noticed how every other email seems to offer xNo. of free spins, spend £10 and get £20 of free entry to Sparkle bingo games. Are we becoming a nation of gamblers who expect to get loads of dosh for nought? I refuse to join in with these games. And of course, the only people who actually win and make money are the promoters. Are we really becoming that greedy and avaricious?

Local business went into receivership recently. Panned out that the lad who owned it had run up multiple £10,000 of debts .... gambling online.
Dangerous and destructive and needs curbing.

I'm not getting the emails but I am astonded at how many adverts on the TV are to do with gambling. Online casino, online bingo, fruit machines, inplay football. The list is endless. They most be making some serious dosh to be able to afford these adverts and sponsorship and it's some poor individuals who are paying for it. It's just plain wrong!!!

    Hi.
The promoters have tapped into a growing trend of people wanting "Something for nothing". You are very lucky to have your feet set firmly on the floor, there are some who want to start at the top nowadays, and a big wedge of cash can supply this, also, some unfortunate people who are,"drowning" in troubles and see this action as a "Last toss of the dice".
I think it wants to be more strictly monitored,it seems just to easy to get into debt nowadays,no credit history/bank checks etc.

Its something I can never forgive a labour government for..that and the Iraq war:coffee:

    Hi NicNic.
Worked with a chap who kept a little book,in this book he put down what he would have wagered and the win/loss made. Over the years,he said he had roughly broken even, having said that,i used to do the Lotto and sometimes the Euro-millions,have been told,(not verified it),that here in Portugal,if you win the E/millions,anything over 1000 eu's is taxable............ I will be looking into this...........

I do the Lottery (£6 per week), but that buys me the ability to lay back in the bath and dream about what I'm going to do with the winnings, fairly cheap for such a good fantasy !! But never been in a betting shop and would not touch on-line gambling.

We were in Vegas couple of years ago, Sheila was very happy playing the 1 cent slots and getting free drinks, I had two games of poker. But we saw a guy feed $50 into a machine within the space of 10 minutes, lost the lot, but the sad thing was that while playing, his face never flinched, no emotion, neither elation when he won a couple of spins, nor pain when he lost !! What a waste of part of his life.

Sign up to gmail and such spam will stop overnight. You should still be able to keep your existing email address but set it up so everything incoming is diverted to gmail and it will chuck out the rubbish.

Our rugby club email addresses are hosted by Google and I think their spam filters are far too aggressive. I need to check the spam folder for my account at least once a day as there is almost always something in there that should have got through.
