Can any of you very knowledgeable Funsters answer the following:-
Does a MK3 Movano 2015 van have a gallvanized body shell?.
I have searched tinternet but could not get a definitive answer.
Everything from "yes I definately think it might have" to "No.. it's a Vauxhall, why on earth would it be gallvanized.
Interest was piqued after reading recent thread on Peugout v Merc.
Thnx

Does it help as its the same as the Renault and Nissan van (great engine by the way) , and I have no idea either! A search for Renault Master and Nissan NV400 might help.

Thanx AC/DC ... yes tried that to. Assuming if one gallvanized others will be too but again nothing definitive.

Pretty sure it is galvanised, never seen a rusted one. As mentioned, great engines and great to drive.

I have a mark 3 renault master 11 reg that is definitely galvanised so I see no reason why a vauxhall movano 15 reg wouldnt be a essential the same van I believe movanos have been galvanised since about 2008.

Most vehicles are now but not like your granny’s old tin bath, it’s a electro process rather than hot dip.

thought my work van 2007 citroen relay was supposed to be galvanised but it needed a patch on rear of offside sill 3 years ago

Thanx fur replies folks. Looks like I now have a definitive answer to my query.
Knew Funsters would not let me down 👍👍

Now we are going to be nosey and ask what size van and are you doing a conversion yourself or is it already converted.

L4 H3 (7mtr) on 3500kg dual rear wheel up plated to 4100kg.
Already converted but by company to my specifications.
Wanted a PVC but none of the main stream vans came anywhere near having what we wanted so decided to have our own creation done.
Chuffed to bits by results.

Sounds a beauty any photos/details of the spec you ordered?

We did exactly the same but used an Iveco 3.5T 6m dual wheels. Conversion to our design by S&L Motorhomes so got exactly what we wanted.

CazPaul.
This is only photo I seem to be able to get to download. But then again don't really know what I am doing.
Remit for van was (in order)
1. large 2mx1mx1m garage
2. Large fridge freezer..we managed to shoehorn in a Dometic 190ltr
3. Full oven/grill and 3burner hob.
4. Fixed single beds
5. Seperate shower. (Unfortunately the only way to achieve this was to have a transverse double bed so we had to ditch the seperate shower.
6. Leather swivel seats.
7. RWD
The rest was left to the converters discretion and he included among other minor bits n bobs, underslung fresh/waste/gas, truma 4e combi, 200w solar, one leather and belted travel seat etc etc
I know this van won't be for everyone and we have sacrificed lounging space to fit everything In (We are happy and comfy lounging on cab seats.
What we feel we have achieved is a moho that has as much and is as useable as a larger moho but we have a much smaller footprint.
Edit... sorry that picture does not want to attach either..
Must learn how to.😎😎

Nice one, what base vehicle/ engine has it got?

My only criteria when looking for a van was it HAD to be RWD. I would have taken anything in right condition and price.
However I have absolutely no regrets about getting the Movano, and would recommend them to anyone.

There you go CazPaul.
Easy Peasy when you use laptop instead of phone.
As I said.. not every ones cup of tea and as you can see very limited floor space, no lounging sofas but it suits us fine.. has everything we need and is much more user friendly than a full size moho.
Why dedicate so much room to the fridge. As mentioned many times on this forum 90% of our vanning is spent on rally fields and THS's and once pitched we dont move, We love to bbq but British weather being what it is what does one take? Well we take a load of frozen bbq and non bbq meats and defrost whatever according to weather... what we dont use goes back home into freezer till next time.
Why such a big garage?.. nothing worse than having this poked in that cubby hole and that in another.
Dont get me wrong there is still plenty of stowage inside but big stuff goes in garage.
Finally, another advantage of a PCV is that it is now our second car and our first car is a 4x4 Panda.....Ever tried to get anything in a Panda boot. Last week we had 10x 50ltr bags of bark AND 20 bags of garden manure in the moho... week before we had 500kg heat logs for fire.
Yes it is our holiday home but it is also our load carrier.

Even galvanised vans get rusty if not looked after. Thought most vans after 2006 were galvanised ?

Bobby dazzler... is that your Renault mentioned above? Thought red was a Vauxhall colour... don't think I have ever seen a Renault wearing a red coat......NOT that I am a van Anorak you understand. 🤣🤣
