I had been wondering why John had labelled himself thus, when it seems to me that he is much less deserving of that title than certain other members of this hallowed place.

I think I'll revert to normal tomorrow but I want to investigate putting the avatar in the Resources section or somewhere like that so others can borrow it or by popular consent ordered to wear it.

The village were I live is too small to have a village idiot, however I'm starting to have doubts about the chap up the road...

@DBK what is the website that your original screen dump was looking at please.

@DBK .
What’s this “Forum Idiot” thing?
You are certainly not an idiot. There are probably many others on here who qualify for that name, but not your good self, sir!
Sorry if you’ve covered this elsewhere.........if so,maybe I qualify???!!!
:D

Came back on the Zeebrugge to Hull ferry a few weeks ago. Gusting to 55. But luckily it was behind us. As we turned into the Humber the captain stopped the boat and we waited for a pilot to come on board and two tugs had to bring us in. Its a bit hairy in a beam sea....

I think I've let it go on too long. It was just meant as a joke after a misunderstanding over the weekend. But should anyone feel the need for it I've made it available here: https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/forum-idiot-avatar.187242/

Pop in for a beer :)
Sorry @Yorick only just read your post.
We were absolutely shattered when we got to Costa Teguise for a sleep we headed to Playa Blanca and ended up in Fuerteventura that morning.
Still got motion sickness from the crossing but I'm sure we'll survive (y)

Ok. I'll drink your beer.

Oh. You've missed all the rain over last month.

Think we caught the last shower Yorick

We had a stroll down the sea front at Playa Blanca when Charlie helped a busker draw a crowd (y)

Our Portsmouth Santander ferry tomorrow has just been cancelled because of the weather.

Our Portsmouth Santander ferry tomorrow has just been cancelled because of the weather.
Looks rough out to the west but this forecast is only for the next 24 hours - I think it is due to get windier still around Wednesday.

This is quite a good map too - you can zoom out and see all of Europe and beyond. Selecting the Long Forecast shows the prediction further out.

Our Portsmouth Santander ferry tomorrow has just been cancelled because of the weather.

Ours was delayed a day two weeks ago due to bad weather from Santander to Portsmouth but it was still a VERY rough crossing. We sailed back from Portsmouth to Santander on Saturday and it was as calm as a millpond.

I remember a crossing in a storm. Felt reassured when the captain announced the good news that it had reduced to Force 9 and not to worry as he had a wife and kids at home that he would like to see again.

On our rough crossing, it came over the tannoy that we would be making a turn and that there will be HUGE MOVEMENTS so please stay seated.OMG But to be honest it wasn’t as bad as we had had.

This time we both felt like eating, here is what we had for Breccy on Sunday morning, we shared this and it cost £8.50. We thought it was a good deal.

Just noticed the glass of orange juice was missing, I had put that on the side after a lovely sip.

Eating that lot would certainly produce huge movements later. :)

Oh dear, we’re due to travel back from Bilbao to Portsmouth on Thursday. I wouldn’t normally mind being delayed but family are all supposed to be coming home for the weekend to celebrate their new jobs, damn. Fingers crossed it calms down, it’s so rare to get them all together and we’d moved our ferry crossing already!
