Yes I just saw it too .
When we were visiting the outer Hebrides last June we had a couple of gusty nights on a beach campsite. It felt like a big man pushing the side of the van.
The lady looking after the site said , that's nothing, they shut the site at certain times of the year. Due to caravans being picked up by the wind and tossed about.
I wouldn't like to think I was there in this wind.
It's bad enough the wind blowing over the fields at the back of our house , in West Yorkshire , let alone the western isles.
Hope everyone stays safe.
Saw a hire van blown over rocks onto a beach in the western isles on the news, still on its wheels though, dread to think how they will get it back up
I drove up to Grantown on Wednesday before it got bad, a couple of gusts knocked me right out of my lane on the M74 M6 joint where you cross the river
Presuming things calm down by next week I am on my way to Durness, glad I had not gone straight up there, but the wind does seem to be quite localised, we had some gusts, nothing too serious, (been in worse) quite sheltered here in a valley.
Local news has shown some pretty bad events, but I think it is quite normal up here
thought it was bad coming down the M5 on Friday, had a rocky night just out side Weston just off the beach road but this morning just going J21 to J22 was terrible 40mph and being really pushed about at times, a bit of a worry when its 3.5m high, at least the say dome is still on !!!
