The lights throughout our mh are small G4. I Changed them for Led G4 bulbs but i think they must have been bad ones as they have all started to flicker and upon inspection they are turning brown like they are burning out. Can anybody recommend good G4 LEDs.
Many thanks

I have had some short lived ones too but they have never turned brown. Might be worth thinking about voltage. I believe many are produced for home use where they get a steady 12v from a transformer/rectifier. On a motorhome they could well be getting 13v to 14v. On my previous motorhome, which I converted to led, I added little circuit boards to each light fitting to limit the voltage to 12v.

These have got regulator chips and work up to 20v. Got one in the awning light but it's not been used much.

Look for DC/AC 12-24 v then you won't get brown outs we realised that our old ones were only DC 12v and when on 240v unless your power supply is a super dooper one you fitted yourself you get some AC overlay which kills 12vDC bulbs
We changed them and also found some G4 Spotlights from Tesco of all places (£6 for 2 bulbs 3 packs for price of 2) which give us 22W of light to replace the 10W Halogens yet only draw 2.25W each

We found our G4's on Ebay and they were inexpensive

What's AC overlay? Never heard of that.
It's the higher voltage that leads to their demise, if you look on the data sheet graphs, when the voltage goes up slightly past the design level the current shoots up massively, they get hot and quite soon they fail.
So the on board regulators limit voltage.

Cheaper LED lamps do appear to have a higher failure rate than the dedicated automotive / camper sort BUT the price difference negates any inconvenience caused by having to change the odd cheapo that fails.

Agreed and my box of spares is very rarely opened. I tend to aim for 3-4 watts
