Funsters Slowly Heading To Algarve Might Like To Know (1 Viewer)

Starting on Tuesday (afternoon) Sep 19th until the Sunday afternoon, there is the famous "Encontros Magicos" festival of magic in the beautiful university city of Coimbra.

Street Magic shows are performed throughout the city during the day and a spectacular gala show is in the theatre on the Friday and Saturday night. The Saturday night show will be broadcast live on the national television channel (RTP1).

I will be parked on the riverside aire (free of course, water, dump facilities and loos during the day) from sometime on Tuesday until Saturday.

I already know of VIP Funsters who will be there too some of the time.

Anyone heading down to the Algarve for the winter might enjoy a break with a difference.

After Sunday I will be back on Quinta Majay...

Ferry gets in 20th JJ so not sure if we will be that far down before it finishes but if you could be so good as to park yr bus at an angle and put cones out, turn your music up etc so we have a parking space just in case

I predict the "aire" itself will be very busy by the weekend but there are acres of safe parking.

After the weekend it is QMJ time. (50 kms south, on route(ish) for Algarve.)

I couldn't get the wretched pin thingy exactly in the right place but it is just by the footbridge which is the thin white line across the river...

When we were in Coimbra last year we had a lovely Sunday midday meal (actually in the early afternoon) at;
Restaurante Convento Marisqueira,
Av. João das Regras
which is the road that crosses the river further up towards town. Well recommended.

There is a Dutch van here with that Pampus grass tied to their door mirror...

I just got back after a slap up feast with the Festival artists and crew, and the couple from that van are standing outside it in their dressing gowns.

It's a funny old world hey?

I had a great time at coimbra thanks to JJ for telling me about the shows . They were both an amazing experience, meeting some very talented street magicians and also meeting JJ .
If they are on every year at coimbra I shall return.
Also thanks again to JJ for being on hand with his phone

where do you buy pampas grass anyway??
does it help your vision?
i cannot see why one would attach it to a mirror?
