We need some activity groups, where we can meet in fields or on sites and enjoy the activity. We don't need anything too formal, just relaxed get-togethers with people who share a common interest
  • A Motorcycle Group maybe, where a group turn up and camp somewhere and get out on a ride or two
  • A Walking Group, meet up on sites and rally fields for some walks
  • A Photography group can set up on a site or field near a town, say Chester and photograph the hell out of it. Teach each other about photography and gear, then show off their photos back here.
  • Knitting and Crochet
  • Cycling. obvious
  • Canoeing. Rally near water
  • Skiing.
  • Ukelele and or Guitar group
  • Dog Lovers, a rally near a great dog walking areas
Over to you, motorhomes are for getting out and having fun in. You just need to commit. (y)
If there is interest I will set a special forum area and you can crack on and organise some fun. Who's up for it, and what would you like to do?

Excellent Idea.
How about having one of these and everyone cooks their own favourite dish when away in MH, and makes enough for everyone to taste / try,
Most of mine are one pot based usually in a wok on the cadac, with either rice or pasts cooked separately and mixed in. but coyld be a BBQ or anything each one likes to cook.
Would make for a very interesting evening
I'm up for it,
Got a field anyone, I will ask around Bury St. Edmunds, if any interest here.

Like the idea of special interest groups on the forum & these groups could also easily come along to existing Fun meets & rallies as well as organise their own (y) Hopefully if they have spaces (maybe at the last minute) they would welcome Funsters that don't necessarily hold the same interests but could benefit from camping with them too.

Sounds good Jim especially if in a field and so those of us on a very limited budget could afford to come. I've just used a month's allocation up on four nights, :( so looking for reasonably priced meeting places. Quackers looks like a possible enue for perhaps ukele/guitar staycation.. Can we come if we want to just singalong, please?

May I add to suggestion a Book Club meet.. Bring your books to sell/exchange... Possibly all read one paragraph from our favourite book.. and those who don't like it have to take a shot glass. ;) each time.

Nice idea. re photography, I think there's been a lot of interest shown when a member puts up wildlife photo's so perhaps instead of, or perhaps in addition to, a site near a town we choose a site near a nature reserve, zoo, sanctuary etc

Wood carving, rug making, painting, leatherwork etc - suitable for both men and ladies.
How about crafting weekends with acoustic music accompaniment....

Crochet Funsters will remember my attempts .....

I am hoping to do something at Shrewsbury to coincide with the "family vintage show" 3-4 July, we have done it before as a Fun event and hopefully people have enjoyed it, the showground have their own fishing rights and a bit of canoeing could be incorporated as well.

I would be happy for other interested groups to hijack the event and have their own knitting crocheting or foodie get togethers Robert Clark

We should be in Germany at that time for the MORELO open but not really sure if that is going to happen so we will have to make up our minds.

Dog group (NB not dogging  ) wold be awesome!

I think it would get members to get together who are not generally attracted to shows or more general rallies.
Probably too many Shih Tzu’s on the Forum for a dogging group  Mind you we’ve all already got the face masks, what other equipment do you reckon would be required?;)

Would not consideration need to be made to ‘the other half’.
Nothing worse than sitting through something you’re not too interested in when the other is all over it.
Just chatting to SWMBO - not interested in a rally for a rally's sake but would be totally up for a special interest get together - especially with the dog.
