Funster missing in France

Mum comes from the North East where we still live. I've contacted the local news but they have failed to respond. They all seem too busy with the bombings etc as yodeli said no time for anything else. Am lost with it at the moment.
I have advised BBC Look North by email of theis thread and asked if they are able to help raise awareness. I have only directed them to this thread on the forum. Ihave not included any names.
PM me with your email address if you would like a copy of my message to follow it up. Fingers crossed

Brilliant..... The evening gazette are part of a group of about 4 papers. The lady took all the details of Mum's dissapearance and Dad's illness. She is putting together a story and will ask the other papers to cover it too! Thanks for your help ❤️

Back to page 1 again. It’s great to see the article and let’s hope it brings some positive results 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
These are all the sort of things that I said wanted doing right at the start of this not leaving till now but I was roundly put down for being uncaring which is in fact just the opposite.

I suspect that it might have been too early for the press to be interested... After a month it become 'more' of a mystery.
It also needs someone with the contacts & all the information to get a journalist involved.
Maybe it might get picked up by the nationals... depending on the newsday

Please gang let's not let this thread develop into a bun fight.🙏
Let's focus on Tracy and family.🙏
No bun fight from me mate, I just wanted to get this sort of stuff going at the beginning but everyone just wanted to keep bumping instead of doing something constructive so I just came out of it and I will do the same again now.
I am sorry for Tracy and all the family same as everyone and hope she will be found soon.

Printed off and laminated ,will hang in moho back window tomorrow .

This morning I sent this to a few national newspaper news desks, trying to generate some interest. Newspapers are not desperate for stories at the moment, but you never know.

Dear News Desk,

A British woman has been missing in France for weeks, and an entire UK motorhome community has now joined the effort to find her.

Stephanie Thomson disappeared on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from the area of a campsite in rural France. Public reports say she was last seen by her husband Ken and had no passport, driving licence, bank cards, cash or mobile phone with her. There have been no confirmed sightings since.

Stephanie is not an isolated tourist with no support network. She is a well-known and long-standing member of MotorhomeFun, Britain’s biggest motorhome forum, where she and her husband are known to many through years of rallies and friendships on the road.

Since she vanished, our forum has transformed from a travel community into a grassroots search network. Members have shared location details, boosted appeals, contacted local people in France and worked to keep the case visible. The original forum appeal identified the campsite area and nearby D901 road, and a later update said French gendarmes were searching with helicopters and drones. Other members reported sharing the appeal widely in France and passing information through people in contact with the authorities.

The family’s ordeal is being felt right across our community. This is a deeply worrying story with a strong human angle: a British woman missing abroad, a husband left searching for answers, and a large network of fellow motorhomers trying to help from both sides of the Channel.

We are hoping that wider national coverage may jog someone’s memory or reach someone who knows something.

If useful, I can provide pictures and more background on Stephanie and her husband’s standing in the motorhome community and the efforts under way to support the family and spread the appeal.

Best regards,

Watching this thread had a thought the English news paper here in France is "

Tracy, some weeks ago I contacted a TV producer who has worked on cases of unsolved missing people cases. I heard nothing back but will send another message. The posters are finally underway.. .. Well done.. I am often met with, 'but France.. no passport!? How can posters here possibly help?'. My response is that if it were a member of their family wouldn't they try all possibilities as a way to get answers..

Seems like a huge concerted effort is underway. Keep strong lovely lady and take courage from all the wishes we are sending your way. Hug. ❤️🙏 x
