Funster missing in France

Help Tracy - Steph's daughter

Tracy has been flying back and forth to France, supporting her poorly father, and chasing answers from the gendarmerie, all while losing time at work. The MotorhomeFun community has come together to help. If this thread has touched you, please donate anything you can. Every pound counts.

UPDATE, 13:35 30 January
The Facebook post has been updated to specify the Les Vigeres campsite and D901 road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/qefryFqDbwL2vVAj7)

If anyone is touring in the vicinity of the La Jaurie campsite/D901 road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/TSctpruerRgmjmhd6) could you please keep an eye out for Steph Thompson, who is missing from the campsite (see attached clip from Facebook).

Many members will remember Ken (Munchie) and Steph from rallies in years gone by.

Hi Graham
Have you had Munchie on the phone?
How the heck Steph has gone on her own, any idea? Or may be cancer had Ken in the end and he is not anymore...??
I'm going to try to call him on the phone number I have.
How worrying indeed!

Just had Ken on the phone who told me that gendarmes are on the case with helicopter and drones. No one really knows what happened.
Let's hope she''ll be quickly found safe and sound !

This sounds somewhat like what happened last year to the lady of a couple we've known for decades - motorhoming acquaintances rather than closer friends. She was found in a very confused state not knowing her own name etc, very concerning for all.

Had she got undiagnosed dementia?

Carted off to nearest A&E by the police. Turned out she'd got some orrible virus that no-one including her, knew about prior to this and whatever it was, affected her brain/judgment etc very much like sepsis sometimes suddenly can for the unsuspecting susceptible person. Once they identified what had caused it, and were able to treat her for it, she was able to recover. (This was in the UK though)

She did recover. Very scary though at our age. Hope this also has a good outcome.

Hi
Just had the gendarmerie on the phone, they have my number in case of anything new, or needing translation. She did go on her own for a walk as she used to., Ken was not well enough to go with her. They didn't find anything suspect, and even sent a dog helped with a drone.
I hope they will call me as soon as there's any new element.
Keep your fingers crossed!

We have friends living in Cubes where I know Steph often walked her dog. Have let them know.
Her dog? Are you sure it's the same Steph?
Never knew she had one. Must be recent!
Will ask Ken... Thanks!

Maybe I've got that wrong. We haven't seen them for many years so she maybe doesn't have a dog now.

I'm really puzzled here, cause I've known them for at least 15 years, never saw them with a dog.
Ken must be busy or just don't want to communicate, which is quite normal, but indeed, I can't imagine them with a dog. And if one, then she would have taken him for a walk with her, I suppose.

I've just checked the distance between Cubes and Le Chalard where their campsite Les Vigere is situated, and there's 73 kms one way. I can't imagine Steph taking the car to walk the dog and back. She used to say in a humoristic tone..Scottish are tight! Deffo it can't be the same Steph,.
Édit
Ken just confirmed by text, no dog ever.

Edit again. It's not Scottish it's another place in England, I can't recall it now!!
