himmel that is not ---------

So anyway Himmelfahrt is ascension day so this is a Himmelfahrttreffen or ascension day meet in German. Also known as an open weekend for the factories of Concorde Morelo and Phoenix where I am sure they will force feed us German beer and try to persuade us to part with lots of cash in exchange for a big white box. The factories are all within 5 miles of each other and Concorde and Phoenix are actually next door to each other.

Motorhome has just had a service

Grass cut,

Stripes as well,

Garden planted, well more canes than plants so we will see what we have in three weeks time,

We are on the ferry tomorrow evening Hull-Zeebrugge and then heading for an overnight stop at the N+B factory stellplatz in Polch, we might sneak a little look in the showroom while we are there but then its off to Schlusselfeld/Aschbach for the "treffen" we are booked on the Morelo factory parking but have friends at Concorde so will hopefully get a factory tour at both.

So over the next three weeks you can expect lots of pictures of motorhomes in various stages of being built and hopefully a few completed ones as well, we might also get chance to do a bit of sight seeing as well

A little I have just sprayed it actually and it's going black, I don't want to weed n feed it though as then it will grow and then need cutting.

I was going to water it with beer and see if that worked.

Not an Amazon...a PV 544, and not a (genuine) Sport either.

Oh...and the Mg is not a V8. Wrong bonnet unless my eyes are deceiving me.

I will give you the points for the Volvo and the sport badge didn’t look right,

I didn’t put the picture with MG V8 but there were a couple I think, red BGT at the back next to the black Porsche.

can i request no more pictures of nissan zx's i was just about to buy one when i was informed the finances were needed for a cot and pram, 30 years ago and i still feel the pain

They are on the car deck but I might get thrown overboard if I sneak down for a peek now, there certainly a couple with V8 badge but both GT I think, anyway a nice way to spend an hour waiting for the ferry, that and polishing the dead flies of the front of the van

yes your correct martin we had gone from a 240 k gt to a dutton melos and the next car was going to be a 240z the k gt was a lovely car where the gt came from is a mistery as it drove like a sweeny style granada

Love the early Z Cars, a mate had a 260Z, ratty, but what a car, as soon as you started it up you forgave everything else. Good ones go for a hefty price these days.

I'm not a fan of MGB's and especially not the V8s, Horrible seating position and terrible handling and the V8 was even worse. Loved my GT6 , a much more sophisticated car but still kept going wrong and.

Hope you have a nice time Himmelfahrting Martin, nice homecooked meals in the concorde club so I hear!

You are correct that Costello were first to make a V8 MG, but MG did one later. It tok them until '73 or '74 if memory serves.

Never thought classics would be discussed on here...

Well just to put the V8 or not question to bed the red BGT that passed us coming off the ferry was deffo a V8,

100 miles down on really nice Belgian motorway that’s something I don’t say very often.

Other than that nothing exciting to report.

The weather is fantastic. We’ve been in Bavaria for four weeks and, other than a few days, it’s been baking hot.

More out of curiousity than anything else, which route are you taking to Bavaria?

We have come straight from Zeebrugge today motorway towards Brussels and then Koblenz for the N+B factory at Polch, then heading A3 to Morelo and Concorde after that we will do a bit more ambling along.
