Fuel pump in tank

Fitted diesel heater all good ,fuel drove 100 miles fuel gage stayed showing same as I started with fitted new pump now showing empty with fuel sign flashing on and off
any ideas please. Thanks

Heater fuel pump in main fuel tank?

Or heater pickup pipe in tank?

If its a Chinese diesel heater they need priming and the push fuel rather than suck it.

No it’s a good one i am very happy with it , it’s main gauge for engine hope to be on my travels this week thanks

As per mitzimad you may have dislodged sender unit lead or trapped the float
