Why, have they turned them back on again? Sainsbury's had them all turned off when I was over? You had to drive in & out to find out price.Whatever way the price boards are usually huge and clear
No,it just shows that the one with the higher price is making an additional 18p/litre over & above what the cheaper one is selling at.Whatever way the price boards are usually huge and clear so it's up to the punter where they choose to fill it shows a healthy market as they're not all charging the same.
My local Tesco also has had the outdoor approach illuminated price signs turned off for several weeks. Why, have they turned them back on again? Sainsbury's had them all turned off when I was over? You had to drive in & out to find out price.

Ulceby Cross (and Partney - same owner) are always much cheaper than most other places locally. Problem is that they often have queues blocking traffic on the nearby roundabouts!Yesterday Petrol £1.63 in Northampton £144.9 Ulceby Cross (Lincs)

Where is it that price please not showing up on my fuel appIt’s similar gaps down here. Diesel 1.73 in an independent and between 184 and 1.89 in the others including Tesco

Yes, plus people need to consider the realities of the market…. Hedged supplies locks in prices which does not always work and independents can sometimes get a good deal. As always, supply and demand dictates the overall market directionIs it profiteering by some or not making a reasonable profit for others or maybe the supermarkets usually cross subsidise from shopping to get people in and can't anymore as margins are tight?. His price seems to change with every delivery and there were loads fuelling up the day I went in.Showing as 179.9 on my app updated 35 hours ago. Pencoed showing 173.9
Maybe I need another app
I totally agree. I think it it much easier for companies to make significantly higher profits these days. I am not sure why supermarkets seem to be the worst offendersWhy, have they turned them back on again? Sainsbury's had them all turned off when I was over? Yes but they're only ever visible from the opposite direction or next turning on the roundabout after you gone straight on.Whatever way the price boards are usually huge and clear so it's up to the punter where they choose to fill it shows a healthy market as they're not all charging the same.
Same with our local independent - they aren't tied down by fixed contracts and can bag a good deal on delivery. Sometimes not, thoughHis price seems to change with every delivery and there were loads fuelling up the day I went in.
So perhaps his last delivery was dearer

Subsidising shopping! I don't think any of the big supermarkets need to subsidise their shopping parts of their business, some of the discount supermarkets seem selling some branded goods for less than the big supermarkets and still making some profit on them, I hope they don't all think we have the same thoughts or they'll be hiking their prices even higher.. Just sayin....Is it profiteering by some or not making a reasonable profit for others or maybe the supermarkets usually cross subsidise from shopping to get people in and can't anymore as margins are tight?.
