Just some advice for the uninitiated (like ourselves!) travelling from France into Italy along the coastal route.
We were able to buy diesel at 1.28p/ltr in France and close to the border. The price jumped to 1.70/1.80p/ltr as we entered Italy.

Always wondered how the filling stations just on the Italian side make a living, why don't people just dodge over the border to fill up , likewise fags in Northern France when you can nip over the border into Belgium and get them at three quarter the price in France.

It will get cheaper as you go south but seldom lower than €1.66

Have a good time

Price differnce of fuel from Austria to Germany ?

We will be crossing to Germany next week and wonder if there is any big difference in price of diesel between the two countries . Our last diesel cost

It wasn't just on the Italian border but generally more expensive throughout Italy. Prices varied a lot, between 1.55 to 1.80/ltr. Cheapest we found was around Ancona for 1.55/ltr.
In Greece now and average cost is a 'relatively' more reasonable 1.35/ltr.

Not travelled through Germany on this trip so can't help on this sorry - but would be useful to know for our journey back. :thumb:

The cost of fuel pales into insignificance compared to the £70 the average motorhome depreciates by each and every week!:Eeek:

Well, that makes me feel better! although I think ours may be depreciating less these days (bathtub diagram and all that!)
