Do any of you use some sort of frost protection heater to look after it over winter?
Was thinking of buying a low power heater and also use it when away on hookup if the nights are a bit chilly..
Save on gas at least :D

I was hoping this would fit along the face of the front storage seat / bench but sadly it would cover up one of the gas heater outlets already there. :(
I wanted a "smart" one so I could keep an eye on the temps out there etc.

I’ve got a tiny dimplex fan heater and just leave it on frost setting. I monitor the temperature with a max,min thermometer and it doesn’t go below 0.5 °C which sounds low but it makes a huge difference to the “feel” inside and stops all the condensation I used to get.
its small enough to tuck away in a cupboard and tie away with us to use those rare times on EHU. It blows hot or cold air.

"Why I have no idea why it spontaneously combusted Mr Insurance assessor... Nooooooo there was no heater in it. why do you ask...... :pinocchio:

Our Whale which is basically a re-badged Propex gas powered hot air system has a frost guard setting on the room thermostat.
Not sure I'd want to leave the gas on all winter TBH and I think that would introduce a more moisture into the cabin which is part of the reason for me
wanting to use electric in the first place..

The gas combustion takes place outside under the vehicle, not in the hab area, and the heat exchange then pushes warmed air into the hab area.
What's the problem with leaving your gas on over winter, does yours leak then. :winky:
