Eura Mobil 695

Hi there,
We’ve just bought a fiat ducato Euramobil 695, one thing I noticed when I went to see it was that there isn’t much clearance between the front tyres and the wheel arches. On getting her home we’ve noticed that on some of the bumpier roads the tyre rubs on the wheel arch. Does anyone have any experience of upgrading the shockers and springs to give more clearance and less bounce?
Thanks in advance

Dave probably knows more about this sort of thing than most. (y) :D

dave newell lvs put some HD Goldschmitt springs on our Pilote, quite a difference! and it levelled the van up.

Check that the previous owners haven’t put bigger wheels or different tyres on....

Sounds like old springs have had it, which apparently is very rare.
My 19 year old shocks, bumps, sleeves and top mount with bearing were really bouncy and bangy but the springs held their height.

We have also had Goldschmitt front springs fitted. They raised the ride height, even on a new van and there was an improvement in ride quality, not huge, but definitely better.

We replaced with goldsmitt springs lifted front but a very stiff ride have changed again to fiat heavy springs

On even a brand new Sevel (Ducato/etc.) van the back of the tyre isn't that far away from the back of the arch on the front with 16" tyres.

Next time you see one have a look, I was quite surprised but it seems they are all quite close.

Had Goldschmitt springs as standard on the last two vans they raise the front by about 50Omm.
Current van the ride was so hard gave up and now have Goldschmitt full air.

Lenny, hope that's 50 not 500

Shocks were completely blown but the bearings that sit inside the top mounts were also "scratchy" and lumpy when you took them out ad tried to rotate them... overdue for replacement which is why I replaced all but the springs (after advice on the forum too).

I replaced my hymer springs as they were sagging,
If you look at the lower suspension arms from the front they should be angled down at the wheel end,
not quite 4 oclock , but not flat across or Up at the ends,
I do have a spare pair of new extra heavy duty springs for the ducato 40 x250 if you want them,
Charles
