Front seat recovers (1 Viewer)

Based near Leeds and looking for someone (company or otherwise) who can do a good job of recovering the driver and passenger seats that we have. Don't mind travelling though the less the better. Have already tried the outfit in York (twice actually) for a quote but they never even had the courtesy to reply to our emails. Must be far too busy huh?
Looking for a good quality job first and foremost !
Any suggestions especially with experience gratefully received.

regards

Ian P

@ianp - Regal Furnishings, Ilkeston. Highly recommended, but not sure if it is close enough for you.

Another vote for Regal. You can stay overnight in their secure yard, with EHU and they start work first thing and get the job done in a day. If you are only have front seats done they will probably be done in a few hours.

Really nice people to deal with and if you are not happy with any aspect of the work, just say so and they will correct it.

Just as a comparison Regal will charge you around £400 per seat. I had mine recovered locally for £200 for both - in leather . Although I removed and refitted the seat covers myself.

Are you happy taking them off? They have fastener in various places to hold their shape. I'll send a photo when I get home.

Hi Stealaway, sorry for butting in but we are looking to have the foam in the two front seats replaced only as the material is still in excellent condition we would prefare to have the material replaced ,although would be ok to have material replaced if it was exactly the same pattern as removed ,would you think Regal would do that .We are not far from Humber Bridge to Leeds would be ok .could you possibly give us the contact number or anyone within similar radious who may do it .please .Thanks

No just the front seats. They were vinyl and worn through getting in an out of the van. I wanted to keep the original fabric but just to replace the Vinyl with a better wearing leather. I not sure Regal will have exactly the same material which is why I went with the local upholsterer who was happy to unpick the seats and reuse the centre fabric. They have to unpick seats to be able to make a pattern for the new ones. Unless you are doing them all the time like Regal, they would keep a set of patterns on the shelf.
The slits in the Fiat seats are to enable steel clips to be inserted around the seat frame to pull the new seat cover to shape. I replaced them with tie wraps.

We had our old van upholstery done at A1 Trimmers, Knottingley. They refurbished the whole van and did a brilliant job at a very reasonable price.
Highly recommended!

Unfortunately is the same for us. We didn’t take any pics of the inside of the van either. Sorry!
