I got a company called SK Motorhomes to do it for us.
Sam & Kevin do everything in house we picked them after meeting up at the Harrogate show their attention to detail is brilliant(y)

You are going to enjoy that.

We would. ( Envy)!!!(y)

:clap:nice one. looks like you picked the right people. we hope to see it at a meet.:envy:

That looks like a brilliant job, used to have a bay window type 2 VW transported with the same layout many many moons ago. You will get years of fun out of it.

That's a lovely conversion. They did a great job (y)

That is really nice mate.
Beautiful conversion.
Here's to wishing you many happy days (and nights !) travelling in it.

I love the glossy wood. The conversion looks great. They did a fab job. Bet you can't wait to get out on a trip in it. Is that a sparkly work surface too. I want one of those.
Ralphs hard at it in Pug as I type. Dead jealous your all finished!

Thanks for all the positive comments it's been a few months in the planning stages but it's all coming together now

Yes Bev just seemed right at the time :) the floor has a slight sparkly finish to.

"Dead jealous your all finished!"
Still got loads of stuff to fit & a few things to make but it's all a pleasure to do now:)

Very nice - we have a Vauxhall badged SWB but must admit the craftsmanship of yours looks superior
Very interested in your awning, was it fitted by he original converters? - we have exterior silver screens as we tend to do Spring and Autumn tours so would may fitting them could be a problem with awning
I have pasted a few pics for comparison - we tend to sleep 'upstairs' as this leaves all facilities accessible including the Porta which slides out over drop-down door and has SOG fitted - modified a cheapo ali ladder for climbing + have are removable centre pole to add extra support to the bed
Also a nice big rear box for the light stuff
Happy travels

Yes the awning was fitted by SK Motorhomes it's 2.6 x 2m I'll get a few photos
with it extended for you.
Its booked in for an alarm in the morning but should come back in time to take the photos.

We were unsure on the back box idea tho we did buy a Thule backup box to mount on the tow bar then decided that we wanted a bike rack for the
rear door:love: couldn't have both:LOL:

Do you fInd the top boxes useful ?

Like the idea of the ladder but we will probably use up there for storage .

Your van looks really nice CM, bet you cannot wait to get out there and try it out. Have you thought of a Thule tow bar mounted bike rack ? We purchased a bolt on for our Wentworth,, the fitter came out to fit it and found the gas point and external shower were in the way and ask why bolt through when I have a tow bar. We returned the bolt on,, sent off for a Thule and never looked back,, you could use the box when the bikes left behind. win win

Hi BB
Yes waiting to try it all out weekend after next we think(y)

We almost went with the tow bar rack but after a while decided on
the door mounted can't remember why tho.

Would really reconsider, I shied away from them thinking they might fall off etc. etc. but really amazed at the security of it. Locks onto towball, bikes lock onto it. absolutely no give in the connection. And no holes into the van.

Hi Charlie-Minton,
In the box we have : levelling ramps (milenco) - front silver screens - insulation screens for canvas of elevating roof + fitting poles - hook up lead - walking boots - sometimes folding chairs - 10L water container(empty) - chemicals for porta - washing line + anything wet
We have strapped folding bikes on top of the box but as we travel with our dog rarely get chance to make their space worthwhile
We find that by not using lower bed (unless its really raining when we set up) we do not have to make the bed or move stuff from behind the seat to make the bed up + trying to find somewhere to put it over night
As always this type of vehicle is a compromise, just which suits the best
John

Two very nice vans indeed, they're a credit to you both.

John.

Well BB after reading yours & wardj2010 posts it's back to the drawing board:(
The Thule back up box just seems Huge to have on the tow bar rack ?
But loads of storage space(y) I looked at the Thule Easy base any ideas on these.

John.@wardj2010

Tried to get a few photos showing the awning in relation to the body work not sure how the screens fit.
Hope they help, I can take some more if need be tomorrow when the van
Comes back. Alarm co hasn't quite finished programming it today.

[QUOTE="Charlie - Minton, post: (y) I looked at the Thule Easy base any ideas on these.[/QUOTE]

No CM but just looked at their site. The fitting is not the same as the 921 which is one lever clamp but must be equally as secure. I suppose it depends on how much weight you are planning in loading it with. :)

Thanks, now I want an awning even more!!
My box is just a garden cushions storage box from Sheds are Us - I have modified the main fixing points of tow bar to provide support for the carrier so it will take lots of weight - just need to ensure that I do not get too back heavy - when the box is not needed the rack folds up out of the way - I can get a second box on top of the first but is a bit OTT + looks a bit bizarre
John

Perhaps I'm worrying too much about putting the Thule backup box
On the tow bar ?
