I,m a newbie
Any recommendations for midway stop over for couple nights between lake maggiore and millau viaduct? Thanks

Sorry I can't suggest any stops but be sure to view the viaduct from below to get the feeling of just how big it is. The road is good with spots to park.

No help on the intermediate stops but as said above a good Aire with a view of the viaduct is nice. Here is my info on such a place...

PEYRE - AIRE
Longitude
: 2.99648
Latitude: 44.09204
Information: Very pleasant and peaceful parking on almost level gravel carpark overlooking the Milau Viaduct. No services except composting toilet. Road passes by but little noise. Approach from west as access from village is very difficult. Camping cars now restricted to North carpark.

This is my favourite aire. I have been told there is now a height barrier? Hopefully not true. I would still go there and see for myself though.

The last time we were there (2017) there was a barrier on the western end parking but not the other end.

The aire is called Compregnac. Great views of the bridge and a small walk into Peyre.

We walked up from the valley bottom, far better than driving over it.
