Evening all. Hopefully picking up our new van in the next couple of weeks, a shiny new Elddis Sunseeker 196 from west country motorhomes. Now my question to you good people is.....how much of a difference will the insurance be? Current van is a 20 year old Elddis. Adrian flux are taking 400 quid off us. Would a new van be similar/more/less? Looking forward to waving at complete strangers on the road again. Thanks in advance

When we upgraded to a newbie, I remember being astounded at the very little extra money it cost on insurance.

Best of luck with it

A fee for simply changing what is insured then will depend on comparative engine size and inbuilt security plus how attractive it is deemed to be by the insurer to try and break into/vandalise for your average ne'er do well. Never been in a position to gauge the latter myself .....

Thanks all. We were expecting to be bent over, but apparently that won't be the case. Much appreciated. See you on the road.

It's the same with all vehicle insurance. People with new stuff are statistically more likely to take care of it, meaning insurance is rarely as massively inflated as you would expect for newer vehicles.

The other issue with older Motorhomes is the cost of body parts and possible lack of correct spares for bodies.

Biggest difference will probably be if it needs a specific tracker or similar. Can only comment on our own insurers obviously...
