Friendly Motorhome Dealers in France or Northern Spain (1 Viewer)

Hi, we now live permanently in the Gironde about an hour east of Bordeaux. Hettie the Hymer (Exsis 578 Auto 6.7M) is now to be sold or part-exchanged for an auto PVC. I fancy a Sun Living or similar. I have called Sun Living/Adria in UK & answer was they did not do them in France (nonsense) then called a dealer here & was asked to call back in a half hour because the sales bod was busy-such enthusiasm-not!

Has anyone bought either in France or Spain & had a good experience? Suspect we may have to go to Germany or Belgium where they may be keener to do a deal & maybe speak English -I speak a little French but wary of negotiating in French.

It'll save you oceans of administration grief just to buy a ready plated French registered vehicle.
Once French residents it is only French registered vehicles that you can drive anyway.

There are over 300000 camping cars in France, and dealers in just about every town and city.
Could Google not help to track down likely suspects to visit / call / email for info on stocks?

Thanks so much Nomad. I read your comments on registering a motorhome in Spain. I think we will visit our nearest one near Bordeaux & forget about Sun Living (cheap Adria) & forget the German ones despite them speaking 4 languages & giving you a voucher for petrol! Latest problem the Leisure Batteries indicator is flashing red with 0% charge-2012 first reg so I guess they are knackered despite being on hook-up & having solar panel?

I cannot speak highly enough of the French dealer I used last month. I was at the Bouafle branch near Paris, but they have others. Have a look at my importing from France thread to see how good they were!

Hi, surprised to see that a new Exsis 578 is €70K+ today-unfortunately they do not do a PVC to which we hope to downsize.
