Just started up again after the winter and a time away. My very elderly but reliable fridge did not get cold on electric. Tried gas but still no luck. Any ideas?? It lit with gas but no cold!!

Take it out and turn it upside down?

Cheers - hot and bothered.

not long enough
make and model will be needed, plus how long ago did you light it, might take a while to get temp down on gas

Ancient Electrolux! The gas flame was good and bright. On a bit of a slope at home but not that bad. You may be right - I might have been expecting the ice box to register cold a bit too soon.

So it’s not working on gas or electric? That suggests that the coolant is not circulating. It may have sprung a leak but equally possible that some debris is blocking the internal jet that the liqid squirts through to evapourate. To overcome the latter, take the fridge out and put it upside down in the hope that the debris will fall away. You could bounce it around on top of a pouffe (or similar). Let it settle before restarting it. This has been said to work.

If you can smell urine inside of fridge it's the ammonia that has leaked out if not ,try and turn upside down for 24 to48 hours if there is a bad smel replace it with a new one

Some problems can be caused by putting food in. Bad

Fridges work better with beer in. Fact :)
